I really enjoy these paintings where a background is prepared first and then really informs the way the final painting is done. It feels very freeing yet still not entirely abstract. Very fun

Thanks Ramona, yes, I love doing these (once I get started!)

Little Arthur is so curious about what you are doing. Both my cats are gingers and you never know what they are going to do. I loved the oranges in your background. I’d like an accent wall in my house to look like that.🎃🍂😎

Wow, that would be really dramatic!!! and yes, Arthur is a real character!

You do know now that since precious Arthur arrived at your door, that your videos will never be complete without an appearance of that gorgeous little cat!

"and the next thing is to get a cup of coffee." I can relate! Thank you for posting this in your "fall favorites" Playlist. It's beautiful, and perfect for this season. I can't wait to try it. Never tried tracing paper before, but I really want to after seeing this tutorial, because I struggle with composition, and the tracing paper will surely help.

I loved making the background. After it dried, i tried to see the leaf shapes but was having no luck. Then one afternoon i had my reading glasses on and looked at it from across the room, and i saw each leaf shape to make! I think I need to do more blurry vision art! It really does help to not be focused on the details!

Ooh this is scrumptious, Diane! I'll pop over the road to the play park later and find some fallen leaves that are not too soggy (lots of rain lately) and see what i can do. Maybe can draw around the real leaves..? Your picture is really Lovely and i must say, you have a great eye for colour!! That would look fab on the wall in a frame! Love Mel xx 🍰🌻
@DianeAntoneStudio Жыл бұрын
Hi Mel, thanks so much for the message! Yes, it’s very soggy here too and we have very few brown leaves yet - I think the autumn is probably further advanced in England than here.

I love autumn, and this watercolor is a beautiful depiction of all those colors. I’ll have to try some salt! When I trace over a drawing, and I do it often, I use a red pen to retrace onto paper. I can see where I’ve been or where I. May have skipped. My one and only trick. Coffee!

I love this painting. I’m going to have to try it. Arthur wants tp play in the leaves😸. I miss having a kitty. My son is very allergic to felines, sadly.

I’ve never seen this technique before and I must say it is beautiful. You always make it look so easy and the paints flow so well. I purchased the paints on Monday and I look forward to using them and a bit nervous as well. Good to know I can buy from your shop in the future. Wow very exciting. Thanks ❤️

I love these bright colors. Did you put any veins in the leaves at all? I think Arthur does like your painting, as so many of your followers do, thank you Diane 😊
@DianeAntoneStudio3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary, I didn't put a lot of detail in the leaves, leaving it more or less to the imagination really. Arthur does like walking on the paintings and the most recent one (seed heads and berries I'm afraid) he put in quite an appearance! Autumn has come to an end now painting-wise and we're starting on wintery topics so the cardinals and other beautiful birds will be appearing soon! Hope you enjoy them! Tomorrow a little snowman and then cardinals mid week!

Thank you, Diane. This is lovely as usual. I just received my Etival paper. I haven’t tried it as it’s late afternoon. I did peek, and I took out just one sheet it is so thick; I couldn’t believe it. It’s also quite large. I usually paint small so I will be cutting it in half some of the times. It seems great. I’ll report tomorrow.

I am impressed with the amount of paint on the Viviva cards. Will we be able to purchase from you if we live in the US? Today's tutorial is a two for one for me. I live the colors used. It will make beautiful cards and markers. I have been watching the Iceland Volcano with thought of painting a scene from it. The negative is definitely needed to make the lava stand out. I received my glass pen set yesterday. I am very impressed with the set as a whole. It would make a really nice gift for any artist. The boxing is the best I have ever seen with any art supply. I received the pen, 4 bottles of waterproof ink, a dropper, ink cup and pen rest for less than $20. Thank you Diane for doing the hard work for us. It was nice to follow your link and get a really good product that isn't expensive.

The colors, the textures, and leaf placement work so well. I am fascinated by the process as well as your keen eye in seeing what goes where...if that makes any sense. The final painting is a powerful visual reminder of the beauty of the season....my personal favorite. AUTUMN.
