omg pls excuse my nose pimple patch that was peeling off the entire reaction i didn't realize how bad it looked until i rewatched this video LOL OMGGGGGGG... also I PRE-RECORDED THIS A COUPLE DAYS AGO but my video got blocked so I had to re-cut it! fun note on the choreo for clap- during Vernon's last verse (39:18) he gets to do whatever move he wants and the members have to copy it. So the live performances for Clap are so fun because in different stages he does a variety of different moves during that last part, it's improvised and i find that so fun lol

actually the video production concept for the MV is just a concept, since debut seventeen had production companies making their MVs. there are only two MVs seventeen have created themselves which are holiday and snap shoot, which were directed by wonwoo and mingyu respectively. however those are both bsides and wonwoo and mingyu both sort of made them for fun bc they got into video editing and such as a hobby. so video production is something svt CAN do but it's not really a staple of their self producing the way songwriting and choreographing are. and both of those MVs came after clap era, so it really is just a concept for the MV (but a great concept nonetheless!) also them setting up for the dance practice was just a skit to go along with the concept 😅 the boys do help clean up the practice room after, even today, so it's possible that they actually do help set up the practice room too, but what you actually saw in that video was a skit regardless. also by the time clap released they had already been considered one of the top boy groups for a while. despite them coming from what was at the time a small company, seventeen gained popularity VERY quickly. for reference, their first win was pretty u and aju nice and don't wanna cry were both songs that increased their popularity and were well known. so by the time clap was released they were very secure as a popular group! (I'm explaining this just to give you some context for where SVT were at in their career at this point, i know you didn't mean your comment as a bad thing!)

I dont know if anyone mentioned this yet but apparently Scoups and Woozi trained with Ailee back in the days (note: these two were the first seventeen trainees originally supposed to debut with a group called tempest). This was mentioned in their pre-debut non-elimination show where Ailee actually became a judge.

the story about clap is about clapping when things arent working out, to have fun while having a bad day. so svt is working on a seventeen videotape technology inc, hoshi is the boss, and he keeps on declining the members' works except Perf team (nepotism!!! LOL) so they got mad and attack him. mv aside, the story of the lyrics is about clapping off those days where you got home and suddenly it rained when you forgot your umbrella and your MRT card balance is zero and youre tired~~ so this MV is soo soo good!!~~ i love this song and MV. and they also incorporate it to the whole comeback, the dance MV is about them working on SVT inc, also they have this video of health-clapping tutorial (so weird..... hahah). of course they have a team back then, its just pledis got so creative with the whole comeback concept

Fun Facts on Clap performances: DK and Seungkwan do ALL those explosive high note adlibs live.... they're legit! Every single time! TT TT Wonwoo chooses different members to pull up during his part in @36:59 Vernon changes up his steps on his part in @39:26 and the members follow whatever step he does. They do this during concerts and live stages, with Vernon doing the craziest moves.

They already had a production team for videos and stuff in Clap era lol, but this era's theme (and kinda inside joke) was about them being self-produced. They did have a very low-budget production at their debut (green screen MV, H&M stge outfits etc...) but they hadn't directed any videos yet at that point (Mingyu and Wonwoo will later). The self-producing mostly applied to their music and choreography, them designing their own merch + deciding their concepts. They hired directors for MVs and, as for other kinds of videos like dance practices and part switches, it was most likely their managers who set them up.

that's how the whole caratland reacted after the ost was released, we all just cried, at their voices, the melody of the song and how good they expressed the right emotions through their voices😭 if you have time please checkout all ost's sang by seventeen please🥺 They were already awarded last 2018 with OST of the yr through their song A-Teen. The concept for the Clap MV is that SVT is actually a film company (Specialized Videotape Technology, Inc.) who directed and filmed all of their past music videos! (But they didn't really, this is just a fun concept for a group known from self-production.) So you can see easter eggs from a lot of their previous mvs, including the cg of woozi carrying a car (from adore u) and coups jumping into the arms of the members and the basketball court (mansae), but especially the four unit mvs that prelude clap comeback (and you can see videotapes with the titles of those mvs throughout). The car that they're sitting in through most of it is the car from Change Up, when they are sitting in a circle around the table at 21:09 they are planning the Change Up mv (you can see it in the paper in the middle), and Hoshi in the ball pit getting hit by the members at 21:33 is also from Change Up where he gets m&ms(?) dropped on his head. At 25:59 you can see a model they have and inside the box is the Change Up MV, and on top is the shot from Trauma where the hip hop team members are in black standing on a white box (suggesting connecting MV universes haha). A lot of the objects lying around in different shots are also from music videos or the teaser clips they released for this era. There may be more that I missed, but basically they created a super fun, colorful, meta concept and added in a bunch of easter eggs for carats to find. And that's why this is my favorite music video of theirs! Plus the song, choreo, and visuals are phenomenal.

the overall concept of Clap is that they are a production team. if you watch closely, in the mv during the intro before scoups start singing, it shows 'Specialized Video Technology' which also means SVT. Hence, that is why in the mv they're doing lots of stuffs like filming, preparing props, editing, brainstorming ideas and so on. And for the dance practice, it's also a part of the concept. pretty sure the staffs were there helping them out.

Another fun fact : Woozi, S.Coups and Ailee are old friends as they trained together for some time predebut. Their interactions are adorable and Ailee kinda treats Seventeen as her baby brothers lol. Her and Woozi have a really cute older sister-younger brother relationship. He helps her with Korean lyrics to some of her songs (or at least I know he did during her first album when her korean wasn't as good) and he's credited for it and everything. little fun fact abt the carat bong. cheol asked to make it extra bright so carats can feel safer when going home in the dark after a concert and recently a chinese carat was actually rescued thanks to the lightstick. there was really heavy rain in china which led to floods. and thanks to the really bright light of the caratbing she was found and brought to safety. so yeah in other words: seventeen are out here saving lives, like literally.
