Silmien välliin is a wartime couplet written by Reino Palmroth, Alias Palle. The song is one of the most famous Finnish propaganda songs of the Second World War, and in 2002 was composed anew by Åttopojat,
Otto Wille Kuusinen was a Chairman of the Bureau of the Supreme Council of the Karelian-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic from 1940-1956, he also was a Finnish politician, who forged much of his career in the Soviet Union. Kuusinen was the chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Finland in 1911-1913.
The meaning of the word Politrukit is communism/communist/political commissar/military, not Rus’

Yeah... I don't really see a point in NATO those days. A too big organization with too big fears. Little alliences like the Visegrad Group seem much better to me. And BTW, joining NATO once Russia goes for a war against someone who wanted to join NATO - that is not wise. But overall I really like Finland - just like us here in Israel, they had to fight for survival.

​@yosef_tetro I mean, NATO was designed as a defence alliance for all NATO states who felt they needed it. And given what Russia is doing to Ukraine right now, there is definitely still a need for NATO. Especially given the fact that the attack on Ukraine was unprovoked. They never planned on joining NATO (multiple treaties actually forbade that, treaties which Russia broke by invading and therefore doesn't bind Ukraine anymore) and only began the application process by the time Russia invaded. Amd now Putin has managed to convince all of those neutral Nations in Europe that it is in their best interest to join NATO. In his efforts to undermind NATO, he has made them quite a bit stronger.
