Had mine for 3 years. Used approximately 4 times per year. Thoroughly cleaned after use and stored in the shed. A couple of things to watch out for. As Stephen said below, the pump no longer cuts out when the trigger is released. My trigger has started leaking. The tabs which hold the battery in can come loose. Check the screws for tightness. Below is the more serious fault: The shoulder strap has ripped and snapped where the strap meets the padding, at the stitching, where it goes over your shoulder. (Tip: I wouldn't hang it by its strap when stored.) I was putting it on and tightened the strap and it ripped all the way through and snapped the strap. (I sit on a step with the backpack behind me, lean back, put the straps on and tighten.) I contacted Silvan about this and the potential danger. I commented if the strap broke whilst wearing it, you would have (potentially) 20kg + lurching you to one side. A potential injury. Also if the tank hit the ground and split open, there is the potential for the contents to cover the operator (not good if a hazardous chemical. Farmers have died when covered with such chemicals accidentally) and cause damage to the nearby area of the ground. Unfortunately, the Silvan rep was not interested. The first email he pretty much stated they do have straps fail and to contact a dealer for a new one. After 2 emails I asked him why he was not interested in this failure and he said, "I have nothing more to add". Very disappointed with the customer service.

Excellent review mate. Great detail. I just bought the 12 litre version from Bunnings. For the life of me I couldnt figure out what the little blue piece was for but now I know. Cheers and happy spraying.

Hey mate, great review, I’ve got the same sprayer but it’s developed an annoying habit of not turning off when you release the trigger spray, I.e the pump still runs. When it was new I never had this problem, would you recommend anything to address this? Thanks

Hmm I haven’t had that problem myself but it sounds like it’s not pressurising. I have read about others having issues with the lid sealing so I would check the rubber seal is still seated properly inside it’s groove and hasn’t popped out a little. Then I’d have a go with the bleeding tool that comes with it to see if it has some air trapped inside the trigger. Good luck! 🤞
