Let's not forget the blip of the Dargonesti invading and laying siege to Silvanost itself. I prefer the Qualinesti, but the Windrunners and Kirath are some of the best organizations out there.

I've always been a little confused by how the elves are written in this setting. They're explicitly "good" but consistently written as evil. And every series basically uses them as punching bags and almost wipes them out.

I came to say the same thing. These beings were made by the Lawful Good god and their action in the face of evil: hide and watch.

I havent read these books since the 90's. I'm remembering so much. Well done on these. I do have to say, there are a few names that Im certain you are mispronouncing, but as I've never heard the authors or anyone in any sort of authority speak them, I could be wrong. Like You say "Salamnia" like Salamander, I hear "Soh-lahm-knee-uh." Or "Kanan". You pronounce it Kay-nan, like nanny. I hear "Kah-Non" "Kith Kah-non."

The authors said a long time ago that there is no official pronunciation, and to say the words as you read them. Regional dialects will change the way people speak, so feel free to say them however you like.

It's interesting hearing the different pronunciations. I've always much preferred the Qualinesti over the Silvanesti, but both groups can be a bit too uppity. My original DL character was a Qualinesti Red Robe - a choice which, as I recall, caused certain problems with the homeland :)

For me the best elves were the wild elves descendents of kagonost.. (sorry they may have been spelled differently here in Italy).. At least they were the most different from classic and Tolkien inspired.. Will wait for your video on them 😉

I always pronounced Cyan as "Sian" and not "Kian" because of the chemical "cyanide"

The color Cyan as well... I have no idea why I hit it with a hard K sound. I just always have. I find myself going back and forth on pronunciations the more I am exposed to others'.
