At least in my parents' home town in Mexico, it's almost impossible to find Libertads. When they were available, the packaging was pretty bad. And the Banco Azteca didn't seem to have a lot of respect for the Libertads. Sometimes we got lucky and the coins were pristine. Had no idea that these coins were sought after, considering the packaging was like junk silver. But Libertads are beautiful.

I was in MONTERREY MEXICO December to March and I went to my local bank and purchased 15 bu libertades and was lucky enough to have found low mintage 2017s 2018s and a few others, paid about 7 dls premium on these.LUCKY ME... Enjoyed you're VIDEO APMEX.🇲🇽

I enquired about Libertads often when visiting border towns in '19 - 22. They were always 25% more expensive than Silver Eagles.

I have a Libertad and an Eagle in those acrylic protective disks. Also, I have a tube of 2016 eagles. Good enough. That stuff is too expensive. Generic and other foreign silver is the rest of my stuff.

I don’t have any Silver Eagles but I do have Silver Libertads. I’m a huge fan of the Libertads. I really like the design and of course the low mintages. I recently purchased some of the 40th anniversary coin sets. It’s a really great looking set and very limited. I’m also putting together some sets.

I'll stick to the junk silver that I've accumulated over the past 30+ years for below spot. I enjoy the way it looks and, on the occasion, that I sell or barter with it, junk or Constitutional silver yields the highest profit margin for me than any other silver that I've purchased over the years.

I can't think of a better coin to dethrone the ASE. It even comes in fractional sizes! I love all of mine. The 1/20 is a bit much too small.

Oh that's an eagle I always thought that was a buzzard Lol for real!! When I was a kid around 1996 my great aunt gave me a 1982 Libertad I still have it today. I think she paid around 6 or 7 bucks back then. Premiums are way to high for silver and gold I'm done buying until it comes back down

Libertad premiums have not always been high. I bought a 5 oz within the last few years from Apmex for $1201 oz had a premium of $5-6 bucks. Strange times.

Considering Libertads have historically been extremely expensive, i wouldn't say its dethroned the Eagle as it has been selling at higher premiums for idk how long. What's happening is people are tired of being fleeced by their own govt for silver, are beginning to look elsewhere & finding out other nations have been in the game. Mexican bullion has been at the top for some time, price wise & certainly in quality- and there's good reason for that. Starting with the history Mexico has with silver & minting quality coin with it that is highly regarded throughout the rest of the world. Its only here that Eagles rule & that's bc most folks believe anything. Btw im very new to this, am yet to own an Eagle and probably never will, simply based on the fact that they are a gigantic ripoff that you will waste your $ on & never get back bc whos going to pay stupid high premiums for graded bullion in a recession or worse a depression- Nobody. And why do people grade them anyway? I don't see Maples, Britannias or Kangaroos being graded and sold for $100s- so that's another reason i stay away. The culture surrounding the coin is tainted. And The 2 mushroom penises fighting on the type 1 reverse aren't exactly beautiful. Buy Canadian or Australian or spend that $ on Mexican, bc our Dollar is going away & nobody's going to want $80-$400 1 oz silver coins when the economy collapses. You will get spot price or less for them, & if a newbie can see that.. You know its a bad investment. Especially for the uncertain future we're looking at here in the US. Stay stacking & be well

Yes we have beautiful libertads, but the liberty angel is not such, its the goddess Nike giving the laurel crown of victory to México for achieving freedom 😊 and are super cheap at the capital
