I dyed my hair for decades and wanted to let my gray grow out. But my ex husband hated the idea. After 35 years of marriage, I left and three years later, all the dye has been cut off and I get more compliments on my silver hair than I ever did with my expensive dyes.

Hey Ki! 26 yr old Indian here. I'm slightly grey already but I do my henna for the scalp and it's keeping me alright for now. Once I'm more salt, less pepper, I'm definitely going grey. However, I'm a thin wavy haired girl. I watch your channel because my mum has bomb but damaged curls. She never has the time for herself. She's got a good bit of grey but she's also a Kindergarten teacher. I've urged her to go grey because she could totally rock it, but she says her dye job is for her workplace. She's decided to grow her greys once she's retired. And, thank you so much, you do not know the lives you bless with your presence. My mum never had her hair taken care of as a child, and now when I do it for her, correctly, after having learnt all the detangling tips from you, she gets very emotional. So, here's to you! ❤

My first gray hair was when I was 23. I was so excited about it when I saw it, and I showed my boyfriend at the time. He freaked out and plucked it right out of my head with his fingers! I was shocked and asked him why in the world he did that, and he was like, “Nobody wants that in their hair.” Needless to say, he didn’t stay my boyfriend for long. 😂 I’m 38 now, and I’d say somewhere between 30% and 40% gray, and I totally dig it.

If my hair gets this type of gray/silver. I would want to put a pastel super light tint over it. Like a pink or lavender so when the light catches it it will shine different colors. Maybe like a (Moroccan or Overtone) colored deep conditioner so it can be temporary and not damaged the hair.

I went through a L'Oreal blonde phase in my 40's, but when the silver started appearing I decided to let it go and see what would happen. Today (at 67) I have silver in front that gets darker toward the back, and I love it. I've totally earned every one of those foxy silver hairs!

This genuienly seems like such a good experience. I’ve grown up in a 90% white town my whole life anytime I’ve ever got my hair done it’s been just damaged and damaged. I have a white mom so she doesn’t really know what she’s doing either the most I can do is watch KZbin videos yk. The only haircut I’ve ever had was from MYSELF in 5th grade about 5 years ago😬. I would love to go to someone who really knows what they’re doing and doesn’t treat my hair like it’s a problem. I’m hoping one day I’ll be in one of these videos I would LOVE IT. I love what you do and it’s super amazing to see

I'm a white lady, addicted to you on KZbin. I am a crafter, love working with my hands, and hairstyling falls into that category for me. I very much enjoy watching you working with black hair, I am learning so much from you! I just turned sixty-nine years old, and my hair is turning white slowly. I'm thankful it did not go yellow or gray but went straight to white, and I have decided to just let it do what it's going to do. My mother dyed her own hair all her adult life, I was never sure what her natural color was! I just couldn't see doing that, and I always loved my dark chocolate hair color. I lost so much hair when I went through the "change", not right away, but a few years later, all my natural curl was gone, along with more than half of its thickness. Here is the important part: I also lost the outer half of my eyebrows. Recently I changed my diet to Keto (low carb, 5oz protein, and big increase in green vegies), and my eyebrows have been growing back in. I am hoping at least some of my hair will wake up and start growing again.

When I had very few silver hairs when I was like 24 - 28, I didn't color them, I thought they looked interesting. Then the gray hairs were more but not enough for it to look pretty so I colored it from like 28 - 42. At 42, my head is like 60% gray hair so I decided to grow it like that. My thinking was many young girls color it gray, I have it pretty gray naturally, rock it! It's been a year and a half and the colored hair is almost gone and I couldn't be happier. Contrary to what is engrained in our brains, I don't look old, I look beautiful and I don't regret my decision. I'm really excited for my new look :)

her hair is soooo pretty! omg. Just beautiful. Love listening to you talk while working on these beautiful people. :) I used to dye my hair since I got my first silvers in junior high school around 7th grade. (For my family it's hereditary.) I didn't go as dark as it used to be but somewhere in between the darkest and lightest colors of my hair. Once my hair was mostly white in front though, I started lightening the grey hair in the back to match the front. Seeing other women with beautiful, natural hair though... I quit coloring, bleaching, straightening, and heat treating my hair & went natural myself.

As a white woman with half black grandkids, I love watching your channel. You give a lot of great hints on how to handle black hair. A quick comment after watching this lady's beautiful silver hair -- I had been coloring my hair (originally almost black) for years before I had grands. When they came along, it was time to go natural in my mind. So I stopped coloring. It took a year to grow out a short bob, but I was super pleased when my hair ended up silver instead of grey. I love it. For an occasional change I use purple shampoo to give a bluish tint to my hair (little old blue haired lady). I enjoy the purple hair once in awhile. People definitely do a second take.

I would love for her to talk about hair care for people with protein-sensitive hair. I have had several horrible experiences with coconut oil which is in almost every mainstream product. Recently I had to do another big chop my hair got severely damaged and I didn't realize the formula had been changed and coconut oil and several other proteins have now been added. If any has any information on any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I know it is just hair but I am tired from starting from square one all over again😥.

Try applying henna and eggs on your hair. Take nutritious food, mostly. Hair products don't do much to the hair's well being. Only nutrition does. Also, the main thing is, don't expose your hair to anyone else for taking care. Never lose patience with your hair and make it a point to do your hair yourself, because you yourself know the weak points of your hair.

@@rashmirekhamishra6705 Thanks for the encouragement. I recently developed adult eczema and it caused a lot of skin issues the same week that my hair got damaged. I know I’m a near it will grow back but I don’t want to find myself back here again. I typically don’t consume eggs because I think I may have food sensitivity or allergies. I agree with your comment about being mindful about how what we eat impact hair health and growth. I am m changing my diet back to plant-based, upping my water intake, and getting my fitness back on track! Also I can’t do eggs or keratin products/treatments because they contain to much protein and my hair become brittle, then it locks around itself like stray/hay, and then I get a significant amount of mid shaft and regular split ends which leads to me having to cut it again.

@Brittany Real Estate TX Thanks so much. I use olive oil and and avocado oil my hair seems to do well why them. Someone else suggested Argon oil so I will give it a try. Years ago I tried straight coconut oil on my hair for that same reason same reason that you did and it was a horrible experience. I feeling I need to major in chemistry because when I am pursuing hair products so many of them contain coconut oil in them🥥 🧪 ! I have found one natural kids shampoo and one adult conditioner in it. I also realize wheat protein and rice protein are also being used a lot in hair care products. I now have a TWA so I am staying positive because I know it could be worse. I returned to praying for wisdom each time I touch and care for my hair because I don’t want to speak negatively over it because I am frustrated. I truly do believe that healthy hair=beautiful/good hair🙂!
