It's not so much that taking care of Flurry Heart outweighs the royal duties as it is protecting her child as a parent. Like the real life British royal family, she's not letting her child become a media circus. That's what Cadence meant about the line being clearer between being a princess and her personal life.

i know right? RarityDash hated 28 Pranks Later, whereas i loved it since it was mocking Zombie movies, which i happen to be a fan of. Especially ones Like Resident Evil, and Dawn of The Dead from 2004. Hell I'd love to see the show staff poke fun at Evil Dead XD. Have the Mane Six spend the night at a Cabin in the Woods and tell scary stories or something.

Wanna read some funny trivia? In the Latin American dub of the show, the voices of Twilight's parents are done by the parents of the voice actress of Twilight Sparkle. Carla Castañeda (the voice of Twilight) is the daughter of Mario Castañeda, who happens to be the voice of Goku. Twilight is both, real life and canonically, Goku's daughter. Shining Armor is voiced by the same guy who voices Leonardo DiCaprio. And in this episode Shining Armor does a Titanic reference. So, it gains a double meaning here. Also, Pinkie Pie is Belle; Fluttershy is Mulan, Jasmine and Scootaloo; Rarity is Princess Clara; Applejack is Bart Simpson and Mary Jane; Rainbow Dash is Tracer; Spike is Rita Loud; and Princess Cadence is Rapunzel, Judy Hopps, Giselle and Princess Anna. To name a few.

I liked this episode because Twilight stood up for herself in the end and told the cruise ponies how she felt, and they respected her. It felt like a more natural ending than Fame and Misfortune. Also, yay, new video!

My guess would be that the writers gave Shining Armor this flying sickness sub-plot because they didn't have nor room, nor time to give him something more creative, since the episode was pretty crowded with characters already.

Honestly, this is probably the biggest breath of fresh air in a while, because the series had pretty much become what it once avoided and/or mocked, so it's nice to see an episode that calls back to what we loved in earlier seasons. Too bad this has become the rare occasion rather than the exception like it once was.

I've had the unpopular opinion of having Cadence as being my favourite Princess for a while, though the show had given me less reason for that to keep up over the seasons. One reason why I love episode is that it reminds me why I really like Cadence. Great video as always!

This is one of my new favorite episodes. I really loved it. The leaked episodes that follow only continue the uphill trend, too. As a whole, this season really blew me away, especially with how strong of a finish it had. Also, I am so glad to see Silver Quilted back. I missed it so much, and was one of the things I looked forward to the most.

Oh by the way thinking of Shining and what you said reminds me of a line in the book "Mark of the Lion" which is about Charles Upham, one of only three men and the only combat solider (the others were medics) too earn the Victoria Cross and Bar (meaning a second award) in history. I can't remember the exact words but it said something like "in war those who act tough in peace are usually cowards and those who in peace are quiet and couldn't kill a chicken are usually the bravest of them all", not the exact words but they are too that effect. And also he dragged himself across half of Greece and all of Crete with savage dysentery that would've brought down lower men. Also when his arm was mangled he propped his rifle in a tree and shot three German solders with one hand. Also he wouldn't escort the Princesses, he manages the guards. But this guy may make a great case study for you.

He's a Kiwi so a New Zealand online bookstore may have it, try Mighty Ape. I've read it and have seen said medal on display at the Army Museum and it's some story and I think a movie is in the works. True for more grand stuff and he handled his gut well, but the small thing in the clip you showed was of a non-formal affair. It's a good one too understand courage and endurance.

Star Tracker is both frustrating but I also relate to him. I am that fan that deeply respects people I feel are amazing yet stands too close when given the chance. I don't mean to but I really suck at finding a balance and I don't know how to casual well when I'm excited. It's worse with people I watch online since you guys are essentially regular people who happen to do neat things on the internet. I'm terrified of the day I get recognized on sight by someone I respect and they are uncomfortable near me. I'm still kicking myself for my last interaction with Dr. Wolf. That could have gone better.

The "Siege of the Crystal Empire" comic arc could still be sub-canon, but only as an alternate version without the Iron Will, Chrysalis, Flim & Flam, and Lightning Dust cameos. We've seen many times how intruders like Chrysalis and Sunset Shimmer were able to out wit Equestrian security; why would Radiant Hope need this crowd anyway? In an alternate version, the Crystal Faire would've provided sufficient distraction by itself as long as she was reasonably skilled. Considering how they all fled the scene early, it felt as though they were just shoehorned in as gimmicks for the readers.

Besides, whenever there is a conflict, whatever Pegasus they have on hand will handle things in the air while Shining will handle it on the ground.

I really liked seeing Twilight's parents. Shining Armor was a dork. Yeah? They may have pushed it too far, but I didn't think it was super annoying. I think Cadence is an amazing character because she does help Twilight, frequently. And I think she should care for Flurry first and foremost, but it's hard to see her taken out of the picture just for that. Star tracker was annoying. Having the staff complain through his character right after the other episode where they did so was...pushing it. Iron Will was fine. Just a nice return.

On my initial viewing, I was a bit hard on the royal couple because of their flawed presentation in past episodes. But after some thought, I guess they were actually pretty good here. With that said, I would still be much happier if we ever saw them doing their actual jobs. Then I would know for certain that they actually do something. But until then, I'll just accept it as my headcannon that I'm the one actually running the Crystal Empire, and Princess Cadance is just a figurehead. And until the show proves otherwise? All crystal foals must learn at least Calculus II by the end of their primary education!

Just had this thought; what if non-unicorn sentient beings HAD to be more under-handed to get on in an otherwise magical world? Those without magic-use like unicorns (and maybe Pegasi) would HAVE to develop a mental and physical prowess or suffer seriously in society as a result of the obvious advantage unicorns have. Unicorns and beings like them that can use direct magic are superior by birthright. So what is a non-magic-wielder to do? This power-imbalance easily breeds a portion of the population feeling they have no alternative BUT to use underhanded tactics. Actually that would make an interesting motive for a season-long villain.

I don't know that Flurry was taking a higher priority than 'princess duties.' More like all the fan attention that comes with being a princess. I honestly would have thought Cadence would have learned that earlier. But maybe it was all the clearer after Flurry.

It may be a big risk for the staff, but I would like to see spike hit a growth spurt. That means a lower pitch shift in voice and a somewhat different look. It's time.... He has been a hatch ling for far too long in my opinion. We have seen the others transition... why not Spike :)

TBH Iron Will in this episode just didn't really work for me all that much. I never saw him as a full blown antagonist, even in putting your hoof down. I mean I know about seige of the Crystal Empire but there's also the comic that featured him and fluttershy where fluttershy helped him with his family problems. In short whether you take the comics into consideration or not it still doesn't work for me. Also for whatever reason it seemed like he had some personal vendetta against Twilight since he bothers her more than Cadence. Could you help clear this up Silver? Aside from that I enjoyed the episode. P.S: I never thought of Star Tracker as meta subtext. Thats...actually very good insight. I was too busy being bother by the cringe.

At most he was "pushy and manipulative," as Shining put it, and made it clear from the start that Twilight could refuse (though he made sure to try to guilt trip her). Plus we knew from the advice he gave in his seminars that he was a bit of a jerk, i.e. "you make me lose, I blow my fuse!" and "don't apologize when you can criticize."

Ryodraco Okay but going back to the seminars yeah he was an insensitive jerk out to make money but there wasn't any deceit in what he was doing. He genuinely believed his own advice. Here he seems more focused on making sure Twilight was having a hard time as opposed to making money. Remember how he acted when Twilight missed seeing the stars. As far as being manipulative where did that come from. I don't remember that side in putting your hoof down.

Everything gets leaked online. There's a reliable decent quality stream available for the movie. I was surprised at this, cause the film's only in cinemas a week or so here. Can't say if the quality remains throughout though as I was unconfortable with such a blatant display of piracy. I prefer to keep my piracy minor mainly using emulators of old stuff that's difficult ot obtain, rather than directly participating in movie piracy. May or may not see the film in cinemas, but until I decide, I won't be watching it online. I've got some morals. Not a lot but I do draw the line somewhere.
