SILVER RECOVERY / removing silver from cds with bleach

If you take both sides you split in half, put them in a bucket with hot water and nitric acid, all silver go's to solution. Take your solution, use table salt or HCL drop the silver chloride then Lye/ sugar method to convert back to metal and melt. Keep vids coming Pete i enjoy em

@@GingerKing304 I think it's more for not wasting nitric on getting the silver out of these, take the silver you get from this and combine it with whatever else you have to refine. That way you can just use your nitric where you actually need it. That was my plan anyways.

yeah but it varies . i will be revisiting this video again soon. some of the info i said wasnt quite right, ive learnt more since i made that video

I have used a paper shreader first, then I use a blender and finally a coffee grinder it's almost a fine powder, it then strips out the silver at much faster rate, when melting gold or silver be very careful as they both give off a arsenic gas.

Ive tried this and the silver turns black and floats around in the bleach. Was yours black?

yeah, it does and then it would settle down the bottom, there might be some still in suspension just catch it all in a filter then you can either melt as is or refine it with nitric acid.,

That would take forever. Use sulphuric acid and a battery takes seconds, reduce the solution with water and filter
