You can find video of Walter "Big Train" Johnson pitching on KZbin. He was a bit of a side-armer. Ty Cobb had success against him by crowding he plate. Cobb knew he was such a nice man, he was afraid he might hurt someone so he often threw outside or took a little off the fastball. Great find, Doug.

On March 1, Romanians celebrate the holiday of Martisor, the triumph of spring over winter, the object with white and red string being a symbol of the renewal of time and the rebirth of nature. March 1 - MartisorMarch 1 - Martisor During the Geto-Dacians, the new year began on March 1 . Thus, March was the first month of the year. The popular calendar of the Geto-Dacians had two seasons: summer and winter. Martisor was a kind of talisman meant to bring good luck, offered by the new year together with the wishes of good, health, love and joy.

Love this site! I am completely fascinated by it…i think Doug may be on to something that the dirt was trucked from somewhere else. But it can’t have been an ordinary dump….there would be overwhelming amounts of garbage. Much if this stuff looks like it comes from an arcade, amusement park or boardwalk. The ground is so sandy….I wonder if they brought in a truckload of sand from the Jersey shore???
@littlewindow71462 жыл бұрын
@@dogtagdoug6751 I wouldn’t be surprised if the farmer amended the soil with beach sand at some point…maybe after the Great Hurricane of 1944, when they were cleaning up? That would be about the right time…
