Sweet chineese cash coins. They have to be prior to 1911.But probably older. The ornament was sweet. Right thing to do to give it to the owner. Great rings. Congrats to Doug on great silver day. Great video and hunt bro. Awesome stuff. HH, Sebastian

Great hunt! The Chinese cash and half cash coins are reasonably common in the Goldfields, especially here in Australia. They are often some of our oldest coins dating back to the 9th and 10th century. If Neil watches this, he'd probably be able to date them. They had holes in them so the Chinese diggers could wear them on a cord around their neck even when digging or panning for gold. I reckon that levelled out area was a dressage pad for horses, which is why you'll be finding tack there. Cheers mate!

Wow! Amazing hunt! Yes those Chinese coins are real from the looks of it, and YES, they are 1700's. I can't believe you got 4 in one hole. Crazy! As for the toasted wheat, it's not steel. Just a very corroded copper variety. That crotal bell piece is massive, I've still never found one of those. I wish there were more 1700's properties around here. =P
@QuarterHoarder6 жыл бұрын
I looked them up and they were indeed old. I think in the early 1900’s people used them for decorative items and luck, but the coins were 150 years old even then. You’re right about the steel cent, it was just a heavily corroded wheat.

that silver pierced worked ring dates it to about 1900 or before. One can still buy a ring like it but not as finally cut. That was a fashion of the past, looks like a very nice antique ring from here. It might be art nuvo, maybe 1920s

Guys, the toy car has the name on it, it's an MG (Morris Garages) 1100, it was a common car here in the UK in the 60/70s, slightly larger than a Mini, with the same A Series engine, weird one to find in the US! Love the channel by the way!

Congrats on some great targets! The glass beads and Chinese COINS were a neat find. I know most folks don't care too much... but when you find a silver coin, would you mind trying to show the mint mark? It's hard to get excited about what could be a common... or maybe super-rare coin... without knowing the full story. Thanks for the awesome videos. You, Doug and Kyle really do some great work and seem to have so much fun.

@nepahistoryandarchaeologys86236 жыл бұрын
Great hunt again Jason! The piece at 23:30 you were calling a piece off a weed whacker (lol) is actually a mechanical broad head for a hunting arrow. The blades fold forward and are held in place by a rubber band or o ring. When they hit an animal, the o ring breaks and the blades fold back, cutting as they go through the animal. I actually use this type of blade when I archery hunt. I dug one of those huge crotal bells last week as well, but like yours, it was a little less than half there.. would love to see one whole. Congratulations on all the cool relics and silver coins, well done my friend! GL and HH on your next one!

The spanking silver ring!!! That design is Edwardian (1890s-1910, even though Victoria didn't die until1901, the Edwardian era started to emerge in the '90s) and silver was the PM of choice during this time for precious and semiprecious stones (diamonds being the exception, platinum was the PM choice for them during this period.) That might be a teal aquamarine. It doesn't appear to have any inclusions, which would rule out an emerald (and emeralds were still set in gold). The S next to the 925 is for sterling, and if it was made in the US we can home in on the date of the ring by the 925 stamp as they didn't use it until 1906 when it became required by law, putting the ring smack dab in the Edwardian period. I hope you can get a jeweler to identify the stone, such a wonderful find! And that matchbox car with all the wheels, all the silver coins, wow! And that Nash hood ornament -- GREAT finds, all of you! Looking forward to the next one!

The 1879 buckle is called a "buckle shield". It would be slid over an actual buckle to cover it up. The idea was to protect horses so that their tails and manes wouldn't get caught in bridle and harness buckles.

Just subscribed to your channel informative and fun to watch. Just bought a ace 400 this week for me and my 5 year old I operate the detector and he does the pin pointer. Well first couple days found a bunch of junk then started finding modern coins did not initially pay great attention to what we found but after and with more attention to finds found some nice wheat Backs and what turned out as a surprise a 1895 v Nickel very cool. Lesson learned pay more attention in the field. Again great fun to watch.
