Great video, I'm also about to buy a new fifth wheel and the payload and trailering numbers on these HD trucks are very tricky! Dealerships say that the 2500 will pull 18, 500, but they don't tell you that's only if it's equipped correctly. I looked at a 2021 Denali Duramax and the payload was 1600 and max tow was 15,500, Idk exactly what package puts the numbers so high for a crew cab 4wd but seems the more options you have the less you can pull... I made this mistake when I bought my 2018 LTZ. I just assumed they could pull close to 20,000 lb without looking at the numbers then when I actually checked the way this truck is equipped it can only pull 15,000.... thank you for taking the time to visually compare the numbers!

That’s a very nice truck, I still think Chevrolet could do a better job with the interiors to keep up with the competition.

Yeah the interior will be charging for 2023, so that's good

I like your wheels. I just bought a custom 2500 HD. I absolutely love it. That’s tough for me to say. I have always been a ford man.

@@Myksgarage Thanks for the video on putting the Black badges on. I have been scratching my head on those. I debadged the tailgate and added raised black Chevy letters and have the 2500 HD for the sides. My truck is white and the black really makes it pop.

Tongue weight is behind the rear axle. It's the weight on the ball of your hitch.

They actually need to specify PIN weight also, but I've noticed they only put tongue weight.. Online car shopping is hard because they don't provide this information!! 😡

I know this video is a bit old, but how would you compare the 2500 vs 3500 ride quality? A 2500 would handle my current towing needs, but I’d lean towards buying the 3500 for the extra capacity. I just don’t want to give up a ton of ride quality as I’m unloaded 80% of the time. Thanks for the help!
@Myksgarage Жыл бұрын
Hard to say because my 3500 had the heavy duty camper package springs up front and the unloaded ride was horrible. Due to the harshness of the ride I won't buy another HD truck, but I also don't haul much so it's overkill for my situation

why doesnt it have goodyear AT tires?.......3500s dont get them with z71 like 2500s?

18” wheels get Michelins, 20’s get Goodyears
@kylevanwinkle20812 жыл бұрын
I would think the front axle rating would be higher to better handle a snow plow. Otherwise your tires still limit everything. I bet they use a higher spec tire if even slightly or a higher tire pressure to increase the payload. Higher tire pressures increase tire weight capacity up to max tire pressure. A srw is pretty much stuck to sub 8k on the rear axle due to tire capacity with standard 10ply tires. The axles on the gm are the same 2500, 3500 srw, and 3500 drw granted the drw is narrower and different brake/hub assembly.

Hey, love your videos! Question for you, I just got a similar 3500 LT truck, do your mirrors extend out? I don't have a button to do so and wasn't sure if I had to use force to extend them and I didn't want to brake them.

Did you find out if the rear axle is different on the 3500, vs the 2500?

I'm not sure how to find out. I keep reading the 3500 has the 12" and the 2500 has the 11.5"?
