Great video! I know these take time to edit/upload. If I may, include part number of kit in description, and maybe a link or shout where you purchased from. Second, maybe some closeups of the work you are performing, especially modding the brackets. I for one can sort that easy but some folks will find it really helpful! Thanks again for the review and all the feedback, I feel confident in purchasing one for my 04 6.0 hd. Same line setup and cooler configuration.

How’d you get the rubber hose to attach to the stock cooler lines???
@recklesslyfestyle3 жыл бұрын
It’s comes with fittings. Threaded on one side, that attaches to the stock lines. Barbed on the other side for the rubber hose. It made it incredibly easy. You can also cut the end off the stock line with a tube cutter and buy compression fittings to convert to AN fittings.

What fittings to use, proper rubber hose type for transmission fluid ect... Thanks for the fast reply. I will thumbs up.

Did you use the adapters included in the kit for the truck side fittings? Or did you have to cut back on the pipe?

I used the adapters. It’s a very complete kit and made everything really easy. Just screw them into the end of the tubes where you detach the stock cooler and connect it to the new cooler with the rubber hose that’s also in the kit.

What is the “correct way”?
@jonasgrumby10932 ай бұрын
You installed it upside down. There is a huge air pocket at the top…
@recklesslyfestyle2 ай бұрын
It was installed the way the manufacturer designed it. Which is also the way GM designed the oe cooler. The trans never went above 160 after the install. If the cooler worked more efficiently, it wouldn’t reach operating temperature. However, this is all irrelevant. The transmission isn’t a sealed system. It will purge air out by itself.
@jonasgrumby10932 ай бұрын
@@recklesslyfestyle so your saying GM designed it correctly. If that’s the case then why did you change it in the first place. Look up: how I do AN fittings trucool 40k transmission cooler on KZbin. This guy did it correctly
@recklesslyfestyle2 ай бұрын
Because it was small. Yes, GM did design it correctly for an oe application. They never intended for me to cam it and tow heavy. There isn’t an incorrect way to install it. I could have mounted it flat on the underbody with a fan for air flow.
