Did you add extra weatherstripping around the doors of the trd pro tundra because some other guy who had a new tundra said the windows and doors would rattle pretty bad in high winds when going down the road to fix it he put extra weathstripping around the doors and that fixed it

Did the change in tire size affect the speedometer accuracy on the tundra?? Also what size tires did you put on - it’s great they didn’t require mudflat removal

Enjoyed the comparison. Picked up my new Solar Octane Pro last Friday. What color letters did you get for the interior orange or red? I also saw some Tufskinz letters on the front what color did you go with? Keep up the good work brother.

Thx for the kind words and subing Shane! I went with red on everything you see and carbon fiber on rear tailgate. Front I didn’t do because I think it might be a little too much. If you do it, let me know, love to see how it looks.

Honest question: Can I ask what it is you do that you can afford to buy multiple $70-90K vehicles and then replace them without a second thought? To be able to purchase a two ZR2’s, a TRD Pro, and a TRX within months of each other means your income is in the top 0.1% of all Americans.

I heard that too and my dealer said they don’t fit. I have yet to find someone who has them on their TRD Pro. The service dept has no parts listed that will fit either, crazy…..

There is no comparison off road I have a Trdpro 2023 and the zr2 is the better vehicle for off-roading. The tundra don't gave atrac so a locker is ok but the basic trac control on the tundra shocked me it's so lame. The zr2 both rear and front lockers it's over

Motortrend just released a review on TRDPRO Trundra Vs Silverado ZR2, Silverado ZR2 came on top. I dont think Silverado Missed the Mark, i own a 2023 myself and it's a top notch truck. Now 295/70/18s fit Silverado ZR2 with no lift. I feel Tundra TRP Pro Missed the mark by alot; No Front Tow hooks, No auto 4wd, No Back Seat Space for Storage, No easy way to get in to Bed, No Assist Tailgate, Low Front Approach and departure angles. Now, talking about realiability, Tudra's new platform might be plagued with more issues than GM. Also, Lets not forget the issues that makes Tundra miss the mark by alot, Windnoise from A Pillars, the Seat plastic part that breaks every 3 thousand miles, the interior rattles and creaks on center console. Yea, Tundra looks good but Toyota Missed the Mark not GM. People were let down By GM because they thought ZR2 Silverado would be a wide body dessert runner however GM liteally made the Swiss knife of Trucks with the Silverado ZR2. Get yourself a 2023 Silverado ZR2 its by far my favorite truck.

These are ALL good valid points but when it comes to reviews from bought and paid for “impartial” people such as Motortrend, I don’t give them much thought and I form my own opinions based on my real life experiences with them if I’m lucky enough to acquire them with no outside influences such as giving a bad review and NOT being invited to the next media test day or investigation only launch days for manufacturers that include free airfare, food and lodging. I have many friends in the auto industry and I’ve been fortunate enough to be invited in the past to many such “outings.” Getting your name mentioned as truck of the year contender also involves MUCH lobbying and I refuse to be influenced by it. No two trucks from the same manufacturer will be sane and there will always be lemons 🍋 in the bunch. Why the one lemon on the assembly line always makes it to my garage, I’ll never know 😂. Our Blue ZR2 is night and day different from the lemon 🍋 white one that I couldn’t believe. Now as for the wind noise some people talk about in the Tundra TRD Pro, I don’t have that, but a friend of mine has it in his 🤷🏻‍♂️. Tow hooks haven’t been an issue yet but yes, that was dumb no to include that along with the storage issue. The interior hasn’t been an issue for me…. Yet. I think after you drive a ZR2 with the many many problems I had in the white one, then the issues with the blue one, yes, they missed the mark for after spending that kind of money and waiting for 8 months to get them. For some, the interior on the ZR2 is fine but for the money, I get tired of being mistaken for a less featured Trail Boss constantly 🤷🏻‍♂️. I purchased two SPECIAL trucks from Chevy and I never got that special feeling I waited for. The Tundra has flaws don’t get me wrong, but I get a different feeling driving this thing…. At least for now and I get many nice compliments on the TRD Pro set up. It’s too bad the Tundra doesn’t come this way and you have to spend so much money to get it to where I have it now 🤷🏻‍♂️. Thanks for your input Daniel and yes, you have many many valid points that I just couldn’t address in that one video 👍🏼. Hopefully your ZR2 brings you many smiles and you don’t get any of the problems we had.

Good luck. I’m a Chevy guy but I’m not buying one of those with the lifter issues. GM is losing lots of loyalty by not addressing it properly and correcting the issue. Dealerships full of silverados

You guys can keep your "Bow Ties", I will stick with Toyota. However, not quite ready to let go of my 2019 TRD PRO for the new one, omg it's just ugly in the face. I will wait for a refresh which will probably happen in 2025 or 26. Hopefully they will get rid of that ugly grill and the fake ass V8 sound, that would irritate me to no end.

I wouldn't buy a chevy silverado zr2 some guy had 2 of them on you tube one of them the gage cluster went blank they had to replace the whole dashboard where the hood scoop met the hood the paint was rubbing off because they forgot the spongy piece that goes between the hood scoop and hood now that I saw this video I think it was you who had the problem with the gage cluster going blank

I absolutely love the ZR2 with one gigantic exception - that interior is just abjectly terrible. The TRD beats it hands down. If Chevy would update the interior I'd take that ZR2 all day long. Until then, Tundra.

The lady who was in charge of the ZR2 design failed miserably on that interior. Wish someone consulted us for what we would like to see in our 3 trucks we ordered and waited 8 months for!!!!!
