One thing i love about the Chevy is that it has a slightly longer truck bed which looks much better paired with the crew cab. On other trucks the proportions of having a crew cab/short bed look a little weird too me.

Is there anything different on the 23 taco that will improve anything? Not hating either, I just don’t know. I’m on the fence with each of the ones you mentioned. I think the zr2 may be more capable and roomy, but I worry about the reliability versus Tacoma. That said, after owning 4 Toyota’s since 1980, I don’t think Toyota is quite as reliable as some would think. Especially the newer ones.

🇺🇸 I'd buy the Tundra. The side profile of zr2 looks weird. It's boxy but has the curve from fender to the side. Zr2 can't make up its mind to be boxy or curvy. The Tundra is boxy and straight lines... no confusion. It's a square jawed truck. Tundra is Charles Bronson. Zr2 is Stallone face ..droppy profile.

Why do the concept sketches looks so much better for the tundra? It's like it looks tbe same but not. What changed? Is it because the graphics made it look wider? Or because the greenhouse looks shorter or the shoulder line is higher? Or is it the wheel size and offset? Or combination of those things.

It's a combination of all those. I think the greenhouse is smaller vs the production, and it also sits wider. The wheel size also complements the concept and the black cladding is narrower. That is probably what Toyota should have done at the minimum. Make the cladding smaller and the tires larger 35's so that it looks like the body is hugging the wheels and not divorcing itself from them.

DAMN YOU TOYOTA for not making a new V8. The V6 doesn't save any fuel compared to a V8 the same age as it. If Toyota had made a new naturally aspirated V8 with the same technology as the V6 it would get the same fuel economy and as a V8 hybrid it would've gotten the same awesome power but with that V8 roar. Edit: Oh and not make you go broke with the current gas prices like the Chevy does. 😅

I believe the actual wheels are smaller on the ZR2. It’s a 17 in wheel while I think the tundra is 18 in, making more sidewall for the Goodyear wranglers. But it also could be the more aggressive tread pattern. I’d definitely go for the ZR2 for this one.

Toyota and GM have had a long partnership. When I see these two truck I wonder how much of both the Tundra and Silverado were jointly designed. They look like the same truck with some cosmetic differences and a different engine choice so that you can say that they are not the same truck.

TRD Pro vehicles to me fall short. Front and rear fascia don't say, off road me at all. And the high tow rating in the Toyota says it's not a suspension that is tuned for off-roading. A more off road oriented suspension is softer and won't carry as high of tow and haul raring. The ZR2 is right online with the Raptor and TRX for payload and towing.

I don’t like either of them, the Tundra has oversized proportions, like pretending it’s a big boy but kinda meh when you see the engine. You asked about the wheel and arches, the wheels have a heavy design pattern, add the plastic cladding and yes they look small, that’s why Chevy’s seems better suited. On the other side the Silverado is just boxes, the only remarkable thing on the design is that line you like, going from the front and then in the middle but that’s it.

@@imnotusingmyrealname4566 you are missing the fact that it's a V6 producing comparable power for compatible mpgs. Toyota's hybrid is producing diesel like torque. They are not class leading, but do well for a V6 in its class. People tend to compare Toyota to other trucks that end up being the HDs. Also some companies falsify their tow and mpgs (umm.. blue oval). End of day, buy what you like. As for Toyota's turbo being a disappointment.. find me another brand's hybrid producing that much hp and torque in class. Ford currently is the only competitor that comes close.

Chevy v8s are just hot 🗑 now a days. They don’t last. Plenty of 2019 and up silverados are throwing lifters and pistons in the first 5k-10k miles. Toyota has a new motor too, with wastegate issues. Both these trucks are overpriced for what they are.
