I'm convienced that Ai knows Annie is her daughter. She ’ was so young after giving birth twice. Even Nene was concerned about Annie. Kyomassa trying to push door up…heroic big brother . Shabani , a wonderful Silverback. Amazing. Thanks for rhis video!!!

I have no videos saved . But it was mentioned in comments. A few years ago. Shabani and Ai had a child that died soon after birth. Then Annie was born. Perhaps someone in the community can give more details .

Strange that the door keeps closing. What a beautiful display of family dynamics, though, as they all rush off to the other entrance to "save" Annie! What wonderful creatures. I also couldn't help but notice that Nene looks to be having much more difficulty getting around, poor old girl.

Well she can still climb up high so hopefully that is a good sign. I know her slowly getting around is the issue these days, but she still is capable of sprinting, usually at Shabani or Annie.

At 51, she's probably the oldest gorilla in Japan. (There's only 20 I believe)

What do they do in the wild, but sit with each other, interacting within their troop, and forage for something to eat. But they also have threats, which keeps them on the move around their territory. These guys don’t have any of those threats. For such intelligent, loyal beings, watching their members getting killed can leave them scared for life. Poachers….etc. it sounds as if Nene might be the only one who experienced the wild, and only for a short time, as she was a toddler when Captured.

7:47 Even though Nene had a rough relationship with granddaughter Annie in the past, she still shows great concern when the lift shaft door closes with Annie inside. Bless his heart. Father Shabani is very worried here 7:19. I am glad to see Annie come up finally 8:34. 9:16 I think the door has a slight malfunction. 10:10 Dad Shabani wants Ai and Annie to come out of the lift shaft. 11:11 It was heartwarming to see Ai in the lift shaft with daughter Annie protecting her, and the tight family bond overall. I suspect Ai knows Annie is her daughter. She was just rather young when she had Annie, and at the time knew very little about mothering a child.

Couple questions these are dim watching for a while. One, is there something different with Nini. She has the strangest looking face. It looks scary. Doesn't resemble any of the other ones. And she's always sitting there with her jaw. Hanging open it just doesn't look the same. Can you usually she's by herself or hiding. And it seems that Shabani doesn't like her I'll be nice.
