Ironically from the other side of the fence, I have the exact same obsession with his ex-wife Natalie Imbruglia. Lol I think mine has a little more emotional strings attached being I went blind 5 years before she made torn, or covered it which doesn't matter to me, her voice was telling me subconsciously it's gonna be OK no matter what I went through, going through, gonna go through. I'm so happy if nothing else, they are back to being great friends, I think Daniel really didn't want to rekindle their relationship, I believe Natalie's been through so much that she doesn't wanna risk getting hurt again like she's been to many times, if you listen to when you love too much, it tells the whole story right there. Lol but when she sings just like old times which is the first song she wrote when he called her. Lol I know the feeling still there between the two of them, I'm thinking he hast to really do a lot of fixing before he can find anybody else from what I've just read his latest message on Wikipedia from 8 months ago. He said "sometimes I sit and wonder how my life would've been if I had taken a different path not regretting the music, he sits outside his home in the park sometimes and watch his families with their kids, he says "I don't envy or have any jealousy towards them I just wonder what my life would be like on a different path. Lol something along those lines for sure. If y'all haven't yet, I suggest you look up his Spotify podcast "who is Daniel Jones, it's sort of lets you in on who he is and what he's about despite the media attention which is also true with the DUI stuff again, but I think the reason for those DUIs speaking from an alcoholic myself being blind, but I still understand the drunk part of it when you do stupid things because you're way too depressed to consider anybody else even yourself. I just want to give him a huge hug from the heart, I know he needs it. And I can give him a free pianotuning as well. Lol with that picture of Prince on his piano, my late uncle Jose told me "Pete has anyone ever told you you favor Prince? Lol 17:09

I forgot to mention that Silverchair even with Diorama and Young Modern have always had success in Canada. Funny how Canadians are so close to the States yet the music doesn't transfer from the boarder between the 2 Countries. Strange, anyways thankyou to anyone who takes the time to read the 2 comments I posted especially the 1st one which was huge, and this quick fact snippet here too. Cheers and thankyou from Tom in Sydney Australia.

Agreed! Us Canadians have always loved Silverchair. Specifically Diorama, and Young Modern. Tracks from Young Modern got LOADS of radio play here. My first band, when I was 12 ish. Or 13-17 (I’m 31 now) played a lot of silverchair. And billy talent, our lady peace, etc. Was a lot of fun. But to your point, Canadians seem to be way more open to change. In general.

Speaking from someone who was born and bred and lives in Australia, Silverchair have sold 10 million albums worldwide. But aside from Australia they never really get the credit they deserve. I know after Rock In Rio lll in January, 2001, the popularity of the band stateside took a nose dive. For example Frogstomp has gone 3x Platinum in the America selling over 3 million albums. Freak Show in the States went Platinum just after Rock In Rio lll in January, 2001. Neon Ballroom had similar success as it to went Platinum just after Rock In Rio lll in January, 2001. But after that no one really looked at Silverchair like that ever again. Silverchair have always being successful in places like South America, obviously Australia and New Zealand, in Europe, they're particularly big in Germany, and then they have had success in Sweden, Switzerland, France, in the UK particularly, England, with Freak Show, Neon Ballroom, and even Diorama. But in the United States Silverchair have this sort of cult like status as a band post Neon Ballroom and probably more so after Rock In Rio lll. The reason I've mentioned The Rock In Rio lll show was because they were done like once every 8 years. I believe the 1st one was in 1985/1986, the 2nd one was done in 1991, then it was 10 years later in 2001 when they did the 3rd Rock In Rio. Now there is a Rock In Rio every other year. But Silverchair were Co-Headlining The Final Night of Rock In Rio lll, in January, 2001, with The "(Red Hot Chilli Peppers)", and they just stole the show playing to a crowd of over 250,000 people a quarterly of a million people which is just insane. So there's obviously alot of press coverage and I assume that's how, and why, Silverchairs sales for their first 3 albums went up during that particular period in time. But to my point which I've dragged on far too long, I wish the Band itself would get the recognition bit deserved it's sad that only here in Australia and probably New Zealand, that Daniel Johns is regarded as a musical genius and a phenomenal song writer, he has a great ear for melody, but also The Band itself how talented they are, and how far they have progressed throughout their years. People in America probably have forgotten or don't realise that Daniel Johns and Chris Joannou and Ben Gilles are all 42 years old now. They all look the same as they did when they played their final shows in 2010. But it just shows how time flys, and we all know Silverchair will eventually reunite, as they have being broken up since May, 2011. It's over 10 years it's time to bring the band back together, just go on tour play a greatest hits like setlist to please the fans on like a quick 3 or 4 month World Tour, where they play the major markets for music in the world, then write a record, over a 3 to 6 month period, then do a major world tour. Remember Silverchair have only released 5 Studio Albums.
@Virginnia65783 жыл бұрын
I read everything that you write =).. You are from Australia, I'm from Brazil and I started to listen Silverchair this year, beggining in january,/feb, on Spotify recommend to me. The first song that i hear was "Tomorrow" and I freak out and i became completly fan and love for they songs for the all albuns, i made it my own playlist and everythin. At this point, in this entire year Silverchair it's my favorite band. Yes, they are always a underrate band unfortunately . I watch Rock in rio 2001, here on YT and yeap, 250 thousand people, it's insane here in Brazil when internacionals bands come to this country. I don't have one favorite album, Frogstomp, Freak Show and Neon Ballroom is all the same kind rythim and lyrics and they are Great! Young Modern it's fine, not as good as the previous ones. But, maybe Diorama is my favorite, is the one I hear the most . Nice meet u here! Cheers! From here, me, from Brazil to You, from Australia !
@@thomaspurcell6442 Thx for share! Was very hard for Daniel everything that he pass through. Like he said "Listen to Our music". For me, it's totally understandable the end of the band. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXfJg4F-bd9kp9k ... you can find subtitles in english on settings.

It would have been weird because they were living in a regional town where people generally say hello compared to the big city, but with Daniel everybody knew who he was and would stare at him, whether it was the beach, super market, park, driving etc. Just imagine every single person staring at you. He was lucky there weren’t phone cameras and social media. But still would have felt really weird I’d imagine. And if he had ventured into the city it would have been worse and probably felt unsafe.

The interviewer asks someone if they could turn down the music in the other room, and she answers 'no because it's all the presidents of Sony Worldwide in there'. That's when Daniel laughs and says 'no chance of that'.
