They played a concert at India Point Park in Providence Rhode Island back in 1999. It was part of the annual WBRU Free Summer Concert Series. My friends went to every one of them and would get 2 adjoining rooms at the hotel across the street where the bands were put up by the radio station. We knew the floor and the rooms that were used and had a knack for getting band members to come for a hang (kind bud, booze and young girls a big part of that equation). Already long story short, we ended up getting to hang out with Ben and Chris. Really, really great guys. Cool, funny, just very down to earth and were our age which was very cool. Point of the story; Never - and I mean *NEVER* let Chris Joannou take a shit in your hotel bathroom. Especially after pizza, beers and a few flaming shots of 151. Never in my life and until this day 22 years later have I *ever* smelled anything so putrid, revolting and sincerely unhealthy in my entire life. We laughed about it for hours, Ben especially - but everyone had to leave that room, huddle into the other and close the door that adjoined the rooms. My friend Cherri was a few years older than all of us and was a grad student at Brown. She was all legitimately concerned and thought that Chris should see a doctor because she thought something must have been seriously wrong internally for his shit to stink like it did. Ben assured her it was totally normal and that Chris always shit like that. He told her that he was surprised he used our bathroom because they had a rule that if Chris needed to shit, that he was not to use the toilet in their hotel room but instead to go to the lobby and use the one there. That night, I slept on the floor of the other room. The smell lingered until the next morning. A member of the band Dove Tail Joint was there that night to, he was so disgusted that he left the party. He got so mad he told Chris "that's fucking disgusting, you should be embarrassed. I don't care how many records you sell, you'll never find a wife. As soon as any girl smells *THAT,* she's out the door like I am now!" 🤣 Ahhh, I miss my youth.

yes i expected him to release a 1-st record sound after CONTINUALLY CHANGING THE STYLE OF MUSIC his band played ON EVERY ALBUM. baka yaro. what i was HOPING for was good music. not pop garbage shit which sounds exactly like everything else. hell, you can't even tell he was PART OF his new "music."
@diminishedseventh94357 жыл бұрын
Creating, experimenting with and playing different styles of music is the hallmark of true musicianship...Daniel Johns has evolved from his initial grunge/rock roots to become a talented musical arranger, bringing in organ, piano and full orchestra to bring all those layered new sounds, as well as experimenting with unusual chord progressions and time signatures aka Radiohead and Zappa.... It's Ok for you to not like his music. Stick to Frogstomp, Freak if you want, but to call his latest albums 'pop garbage shit' just shows you up as an ignorant bore. Don't comment on things you don't understand.

The BLACK BEAUTY Custom Les paul by Gibson one of the most beautiful majestic Gothic looking in all history of Guitars aside of my Black SG of course Daniel had good taste on guitars .. at least back in those days of a cooler Silverchair except for the Rickenbacker Guitar, i truly cannot stand the guitar only Rickenbackers i truly love are the Basses and Cliff Burton can tell you why
@mtpstv943 жыл бұрын
He every say why he switched away from PRS guitars? Rickenbacker is a very unusual choice. I guess it just depends on the tone/options he wants for specific songs.
