I'm an American. I remember seeing these guys performing Tomorrow on SNL. I was a couple of years older than them at the time. I was so proud of them even then. These little prodigies making great tunes. To see what they became over time is just awe inducing to me. My friends and I knew they were special even then. To see what they grew into is phenomenal. At a loss for words. Brilliant performance!
@brownsworthy73233 жыл бұрын
I grew up in the same town, same age as these guys, hung out in the same circle and hated them when we were teens. I think it was mainly jealousy as I thought my band was better and that Chris wasn't a great bass player and rode on Daniel and Bens coattails. I have learnt in time to respect them for their brilliance and enjoy all their work from frogstomp to young modern. Of all of the guys Ben is the most down to earth and actually speaks to you as an equal, Chris was a dick when younger but has mellowed and Daniel will always be a bit of a diva but rightly so he is the reason they went as far as they did.
@ericapelechaty2146 Жыл бұрын
I remember hearing this when I was 18, and I’ve always hummed the melody he does during this performance. Hummed it to myself, hummed it to the children I worked with in the daycare, and now hum it to my son. It’s just incredibly soothing, which I find irony with it being such an emotional song.

Wow...last post was so so long ago. My soul has been marinating and maturing for some time now. I was born before SilverChair-s "Frogstomp" and i was born after it. However, here it is Oct 19th 2018 and I have been reborn again. Not the best live performance of this song; but its a great band. Trio power. Im actually surprised so many folks hate on Daniel ...like he has intentionally done something to harm them or their ego. They were an amazing Power Trio at that time and age. And DAMNIT my band PISTOLERO is going to do a one of their greats, with a little tiny einsy einsy bit of future influence added. It is 2018 of course. If a TRU fan of SC ...PISTOLERO...will be paying homage very soon to the great power trio!

Mat Zen Silverchairs first 2 records may have followed the grunge coda but they weren’t copy cats of any one. I have never thought the band sounded like nirvana and I’m a big fan of both. But it’s all about Daniel for me. The emotion and anger he puts into performances are so genuine. The complete 99’ Melbourne concert is perfection. I never get tired of it.
@snz.negatif6 жыл бұрын
Lisa Murphy it's just the sound. That grunge sound was huge, plus they were young. Of course they're inspired by the songs and bands that they grew up with. But Daniel, for me he always had that vision of modern alternative sound. And I'm glad he went with it. Yes that performance! They said he was sick on that time, I don't know whether it's true. But, he nailed that song. The band also tight. Sounds raw and darker than their later live versions.
