Wow, what an amazing video report. Informative, entertaining, funny and most of all enjoyable viewing. We are so looking forward to sailing on Silver Moon in March 2023. After watching your review we wish we were going sooner but already have bookings with Celebrity and Azamara from September 2021 through to December 2022. Thank you so much for doing this review, your knowledge and experience is priceless and your humour smack on a par with ours (that this is good could be debateable LOLOLOLOL) We are so looking forward to your Deluxe Veranda Suite review as that is the class of suite we have booked. Well done to you both. Happy sailing!!

Thanks Chris, Silver Seas certainly is upscale cruising and has some unique concepts. The Jazz supper club would have been a fave for me…the food choices there sound beyond the norms and you leave us quite curious about them! Happy cruising 🥂😊

Greetings to you from the UK. I don’t normally leave reviews about anything (other than stock market performance) but I found this presentation to be exceptional. How so? There is a balanced approach to each aspect reviewed which enhances the integrity of the of the presentation. Furthermore the basic pitch, pace and conversational aspects are superb. In a nutshell we are certainly better informed about this cruise operation and since our regular (Regent Seven Seas) Line seems to ‘have lost its way’ somehow. In conclusion keep up the excellent quality, it’s truly refreshing

All the reviews for this ship was one sailing round the Greek islands. I am sure the reviewers were given a free cruise to promote Silversea. As it was one cruise I am sure Silversea made sure service levels were at there highest, but with no subsequent reviews it may be that this service level is difficult to maintain.

I really enjoyed this video - I am planning a world cruise, possibly in 2025, more likely 2026 and am increasingly leaning toward Silversea. Silver Dawn seems to be the world cruise ship, so very interested in your report on her sister ship. I will be following your channel with great interest.

How would you compare Silversea to Viking Ocean? Assuming that the itineraries were identical, which would you prefer? I know that Viking is in the premium rather than the ultra-luxury class, but if one doesn't care about casinos and glitz, do you think that Viking provides a comparable experience to Silversea?

Please keep up your excellent vlogs and well balanced reviews. We are in the U.K and very new to your channel but have found it very informative and entertaining. We watched with some jealousy as we were supposed to be on Silver Moon October 2020 from Venice to Athens. I hope you intend to review Silver Dawn when she comes into service in November. We are booked on her for three weeks in March 2023 Barbados to Lisbon, It will be interesting to get your perspective on her. It may be useful to your viewers if you could include in your vlogs a range of suites across the ship. Occupancy may be a challenge in that area. Anyway keep up the good work and keep safe.

Well, now that I have experienced the Silver Moon for myself, I can readily agree with everything that was said in this review! It is impossible to do justice to how great the service was, in particular Cruise Director Vicki Van Tassel. She is everything this review said and more. I've been on nine cruises with various lines, and she is the best and most memorable cruise director I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Oh, and if you like the entertainment, it would behoove you to play the mini-golf in the late afternoons/evenings, as these were hosted by a couple of members of the Voices Of Silversea during the cruise I was on. It really was a great way to get to know these excellent performers. (They rotated which two members would host, so eventually you would get to know them all.)
@CruiseReport2 жыл бұрын
I love the mini-golf. On Silversea, the performers have multiple duties including daily activities such as mini-golf and even accompanying guests on shore excursions. Basically, they are the cruise directors staff as well as performers.
@fishgodification3 жыл бұрын
I sometimes have to use a scooter especially for shore excursions if they involve a lot of walking. what are your thoughts on how accessible the ship and excursions may be for this.
@CruiseReport3 жыл бұрын
Most modern cruise ships can accommodate scooters and are quite accessible.

Thank you for your comprehensive and balanced commentary! My most recent voyages have been four transatlantic crossings on the Queen Mary 2 in 2017 and 2018, and a 5-night "Big Band Cruise" around ports in and near the English Channel on the Queen Elizabeth in August 2017 before my westbound crossing back to New York. I'm a solo traveler, and cruise with Cunard because I like dressing for dinner, dining with others at dinner, and attending the speciality lectures that help fill the day during a transatlantic crossing. I'm considering a cruise with Silversea because I have heard very good things about Silversea from other Cunard passengers who have taken Silversea cruises in the last few months. So, is Silversea a good fit for a solo female traveler like me, particularly during this pandemic era? For example, although I tend to eat breakfast and lunch alone, I definitely would prefer eating with others at dinner. I hope that is possible given that the pandemic is waning as compared to a year ago. I'm most interested in taking a Med cruise in 2023, most likely after baseball season, as I am at Nats Park twice a week from April to October for baseball games. Anyway, I hope you see my message, and I look forward to your reply!

I will be sailing on the Moon next month. The Venetian Lounge seemed small for a ship of 600 guests. Did you have trouble getting seats for the shows? Do they have more than one performance of each show? Thank you for the video.

@@martyklestadt6766 Hi Marty. I am Al. My wife, Bobbie, and I travelled with you on the Moon from Fort Lauderdale to Ecuador. We were your partners in the Name That Tune game. We were wondering how many points you earned playing the games: Trivia, golf, etc. Also what great gifts did you get with the points. How was the return trip back to Florida?
@martyklestadt67662 жыл бұрын
@@lilyrose3815 Hidy, Al! Good to hear from you again. I don't remember the total points--it was well over a hundred, might have been two hundred. For all that, I got a nice canvas bag, and a few decks of playing cards, plus a nice case to carry tow of the decks of cards. Return trip was just as nice as the way down. I got to know some new people, and the guest entertainers were just as good, if not better, than on the way down. Give my best to Bobbie.

Which would you score higher ratings your Viking or Silver sea experience? My one and only ocean voyage was crossing the south Pacific on the Viking Sun 30ish days from Valparaiso Chile to Sydney Australia (traveled single) with several stops and excursions in between. Viking really spoiled me with an unforgettable experience but I'm open minded. Thank you for your informative video of Silver Moon.
@CruiseReport3 жыл бұрын
Ted, they are both great cruise lines. Silversea is more "formal" than Viking, and a bit more inclusive (all drinks and gratuities are included). No bad choice between the two.
@martyklestadt67663 жыл бұрын
Great video. I'm going on Silver Moon next month (December 2021) and I'm really looking forward to it! There are two things I didn't see in this video nor the one of the tour of the ship. I know the ship has free Wi-Fi, but is there an area where they have public computers for guests to use? And is there a deck where guests can walk (or jog) outside around the entire deck? On most ships this would usually be on the Promenade Deck, which I believe would be Deck 5 on Silver Moon. Is there anything like this, or just the small jogging track shown?
@CruiseReport3 жыл бұрын
Marty, they do have a couple of computers for guest use in Dolce Vita, right next to guest services. And, there is a walking/jogging track on the deck just above the lido deck. There is no "promenade" per se.
@martyklestadt67663 жыл бұрын
@@CruiseReport Thanks for the response. I´ll check out the computer area and walking/jogging track and see if they suit my needs. If not, no biggie. Thanks again.

@@CruiseReport Also, my mom (who I'm traveling with) said that she saw online that guests cannot go on their own in port and be allowed to return to the ship. Is this no longer the case? Because that would be contradictory in part to the video where you stated that there was a shuttle available to take guests to and from the main city areas of the ports.
@CruiseReport3 жыл бұрын
@@martyklestadt6766 These rules change almost daily and vary from port to port. Some ports will allow vaccinated guests to roam freely, some don't and others don't care whether you are vaccinated or not. It just depends on the region and the current situation.

I love these videos. I can travel vicariously through you two. I am actually a bit heartbroken that Regency and SilverSea, being luxury cruise lines, are not keeping formal dinners a thing. It is harder for us folks who love to dress up to find an excuse to dress like a princess and dawn our ballgown. ;) Are there any Luxury cruises that maintain formal dinners for those of us who can only dream of dressing up every night? Also, what cruise has seemed the most formal in its dress codes to you?
@CruiseReport2 жыл бұрын
Silversea is probably the most formal. They do enforce the dress code during dinner is specific restaurants. The term "formal" is a bit looser than it was 20 years ago, but they will still require a jacket and tie.
