Toned dollars are coins that have turned all kinds of colors, blue, pink, black, etc., from oxidation. What the old folks used to call tarnish. Many collectors prefer toned coins because it's proof that the coins haven't been handled in a long while. Me, I prefer the bright "new" coins, un-toned.

I was into silver a while ago, one thing i do not understand is dealers always talk about FIAT currency as being bad but they sell you the silver/gold for FIAT currency.

And use it to buy more Silver and Gold + pay their bills etc. Most places don't accept Silver and Gold for payment

When the dealer or a dealer contests grades of coins amongst the grading agencies PCGS and NGC and send the coins back - if the coins grades are "fixed" as the dealer said do they not charge them for re-grading?

It comes to my mind, some dealers liquidate their slow selling stuff Other ones buy it. How one dealer can’t sell it but other one will?

Actually NGC was right, The 3 legs Buffalo was cleaned. ANACS is simply inferior and so an ANACS coin will never get the same price as if it was NGC.
