In 2007 we had a little child sleeping upstairs and one on the way (RIP Mckenna), our life consisted of staying at home with our little one, and remodeling the house we now lived in that we had purchased several years prior. With two full time jobs we didn't have much free time, so every Friday night we would play Rock Band 2 (if you know, you know). This was our introduction to Silversun Pickups, and coincidentally, this very song. I was blown away at the time over the sonic landscapes this song created and it became one of our favorites to play and sing. Now when I hear it it takes me back to those sweet days of a young life, just starting out, and it almost brings tears to my eyes to feel the emotional resonance this song carries for me personally. Love the review guys, thank you for bringing back a beloved memory of a simpler time...

I think I got a promo CD of this at the tail end of my record store days. It just blew me away. And I relish it whenever I happen to hear it. It’s one of those songs that really reaches into your psyche and makes you feel great.

One of my favorite songs of all time. Found it by chance on KZbin a few years ago and was hooked instantly by this band. Gotta do Kissing Families by them. It's tied with Lazy Eye as their best.

I have a signed poster from that album. Same as what you have as your backdrop. Met them before they performed. Love this album. It’s timeless.

As an old indie rocker, this song surprised the hell out of me. The guitar work is very reminiscent of the stuff I grew up with. The hammer ons, and pull offs.....kinda like the lighter side of Sonic Youth....

Definitely. Reminds me little of Breeders even. But this song particularly makes me think very Smashing Pumpkins for some reason (maybe a little like 1979) and although neither this song nor 1979 were produced by Butch Vig, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, and later Silversun Pickups were all produced by Butch Vig.

It's unfortunate that I think some people consider the Silversun Pickups a one-hit-wonder from this song. They have tracks on all of their albums that are worth checking out. So Lazy Eye is by no means their only hit. This band is criminally underrated, and not as well known as they should be.

Just to me this song is just average on this particular album. Melatonin, Little lover so polite, dream at tempo 119 and common reactor are way better. Seriously the solo at the end of Little Lover is in my opinion one of the best of all time but lazy eye became the single oh well
