I've been interested in these guitars for a while. They did not sell them in Europe back in the day, so when I got my chance to finally try one in LA, I immediately bought it. Before that I watched every youtube demo/review there is. And this video is the best one. Your comments show that you really understand the instrument. I feel EXACTLY the same about it. Subscribing.

I’ve got one and I love it. It has a unique sound that you can’t get with other Danelectro models because of the short scale. The bass notes just have a warm, round “thud” rather than a twang.

Similar to your comment of the 1448 sounding like "tight cardboard," I think it sounds a little bit like a rubber band guitar.
