i agree that the MSB has to be bought back. I notice in sysney they use the salvos. In regards to using this song this is what the whole story of christmas is about and has every right to be used especially when it is sung so beautifully by a christian performer. I dislike the use of popular artists who don't understand the meaning of the words they are singing

Absolutely ridiculous and stupid to include this in a Christmas carol program. If the organiser of the show had spent 2 minutes doing some research it would have been apparent why. This beautiful hymn (not carol) was written by Horatio Spafford during a very traumatic time in his life and is a source of inspiration to many. There are countless other carols that can be used at this time. It was almost sacrilege to use it on this occasion. Besides that the whole Carols by Candlelight experience is now a shadow of what it used to be. Somebody please step in and rescue it. The Salvo band HAS to be brought back. It simply isn't the same without them.

Tetley02 what are you serious? Christmas is about one thing the birth Of Jesus so I call this song a special item. I think if they want to sing about Jesus then let them because that Christmas is all about. Its a reminder what Jesus has done for us even in the season Of Christmas am I Right?

This rendition alone redeemed Carols by Candlelight that year. Christmas is about the gospel, after all. But thanks for giving the opportunity to make this comment - and thank you Silvie! I'm so proud that this was done in Melbourne.
