I remember watching Silvie sing the very first time she sung on Carols by Candle light. She had short white hair with the tips different colours. I looked at her and thought WOW, THEN she sung. I've loved her ever since. You make me cry when ever I hear you sing O Holy Night. Her voice is heaven.

Having heard both Silvie and Marina sing this, Silvie leaves Marina for dead in everything. Marina has a good voice no question, but usually fairly emotionless. Silvie, apart from having such a pure voice, puts her soul into everything. One God was amazing last week, as is everything she sings.

Silvie gives a sincere performance, within the limitations of the type of voice that she has. The song offers all its possibilities to a tenor or soprano to show their top notes. Silvie has none. Conversely Marina Prior's voice does justice to "Oh Holy Night", and brought very little ooomph to "Mary's Boy Child" which Sylvie would have sung to break your heart! They should have swapped. Then we would have had two equally superb performances.
