I put down my pencil years ago because i lost my passion in drawing. I just had a lot going on and i'm not interested anymore. Watching this video made me remember the joy and the feeling of sketching in my hand and the calm that it used to give me before. Now, i just want to find a pencil and draw again. Maybe slowly, one day, i'll get my passion back again. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing with us how you fell in love with the painting, I did also once. When I was younger a friend and I went to an art gallery in St. Petersburg Florida. We were walking thru and came across a painting of a woman from maybe the 1800s or earlier. The colors were so brilliant, I couldn’t leave it. My friend saw the rest of the gallery while I sat and looked at this painting until it was time to go, even then it was hard for me to leave it. I’m so glad your story made me remember that experience. If I could look at that painting again right now I would react the same way, I remember it so plainly and how it made me feel and how it made time stand still at that moment for me. It’s amazing to me that a special piece of art can make a person fall in love. 💐

Indranil Biswas No art is a waste of the artists time. Realism takes immense skill. Not many people can attain this level and it can be better than a photograph. The painters identity is as clear as any drawing

@@katywuste9054 no it doesn't it takes immense effort to learn skill and paint not photo realistic , see bourgeau or carravaggio , there paintings are far more better in terms of color values, brush strokes and application of color, textures glazes , but it takes zero skill and zero talent to paint photorealistic , a painter is not a slave of a photo but photorealistic painters are , a camera can do that thing in secs why should any one waste time to achieve it , it's useless!

0:13 The graphite reflective shine just kills me to look at. This is the first “Achilles Heel” of graphite sadly. If you decide to hang this on a wall at most angles the darkest part of the drawing is going to be the brightest ironically, because of the reflection. The second is that your range of value is limited to a dark grey as the darkest value and not black. Both of these weaknesses of graphite can be solved my adding charcoal pencils to your materials. I hope you see this cause you’re talented and I would hate for you to be limited by this.

@The Wizard X What did I even say that was subjective? Graphite is a grey shiny metallic mineral? Techniques don't change graphite's chemical structure to act different. Although there's a chemical out there that does. Matte Spray can be used to counteract graphite's shiny nature. The only downside is that all your values (contrast) get lighter in the process. Chemicals aren't subjective
