You can't make cities in SimCity 5, the biggest tiles are more like neighborhoods. Beautiful graphics, horrible engine.

Tyler Bonenfant I agree: that's an extremely dense population. A SimCity 5 tile is a little over 1.6 square miles (it's 2048 m square). A population of 200 k in that area is nearly double the population density of Manhattan, and is denser than any city in the world. If you look at a neighborhood map of most cities, you'll find that 1.6 square miles rates as a large neighborhood, similar to Manhattan's Upper West Side or San Francisco's Mission. (The neighborhood I grew up in, in an city of about a half million, was 1.5 square miles.)

That type of density can be found in the core of lots of Asian mega cities and some few other cities (including Manhattan, New York)

Edwin Tomy Yes, that kind of density exists, but only in the densest populations in the entire world. Manhattan is by far the densest place in the US, and its densest neighborhood (the Upper East Side) has 45649 people / km² according to the census. 200 k in a SimCity tile is 47684 people / km². So there's nowhere in the US, but there are places on earth with higher population densities than SimCity tiles. (E.g., Kowloon is something like 60 k / km² and parts of Mumbai and Cairo are likely even higher.) The point though is that you shouldn't see "200,000 people" and imagine you have a something like a city based on cities you've visited of 200 k. You actually have one of the densest neighborhoods in the world. As Tyler said, it's kinda hard to imagine living there unless you've done it.

Perhaps this city would be horrible economically and structurally, but I'd love to live in it. Despite the large area, it doesn't have too many residents, and kids could play in the fields and forests surrounding the city, giving them closure to nature. It'd probably be really relaxing and calm to live in it as well, I don't see why anybody from the residents would say it's bad, for example.

This game could have been awesome... I was looking forward to this game for the last year. However, after the beta, I saw it's drawbacks. The largest for me was the city size. 2kmx2km is ridiculous. Should have nicknamed it Simtown2013.

You're city looks great. And it looks like buried under the drm there is a great game. But I won't purchase this game until they remove the always online requirement, if ever. How do you feel about the always online requirement? How does it make you feel when way later down the road the game servers are eventually shut down and therefore the game is totally obsolete?
