Dang… things have come a long way since the OG Gran Tourismos. I can remember thinking how realistic 4/5 were and now there are ways to literally immerse yourself into it. I’d love to see this as a one to one comparison with your FD or Miata.

Actually alot of organizers separate you by class and there are a lot of safeties in place. I definitely recommend trying.

How long have you been driving on track? If you drive NASA they will give you an instructor atleast once each weekend. I would recommend to keep your hands locked in on 9/3 on the wheel. It helps streamline your mind, you don’t have to be subconsciously deciding where to put your hands and can put that focus into the drive. Hope that helps and nice job catching that civic!

Do you follow my channel? Show some love! Reality is very different to SIM isn't it? It's amazing how late and how hard modern cars can brake into corners! I worked for Volkswagen Group Australia for several years and was fortunate enough to do track time in Golf GTi and other performance cars in their range whilst sitting next to me was Australian V8 Supercar driver instructing me! Personally I prefer to drive a road car or rental track car because tracking your pride and joy pushes everything to the limit and requires extra maintenance. I tried Roll Racing for the first time Saturday night and had a great time. Much easier on the car than a track session or day!

I think it's really cool that today's sim racer games have so many of the local tracks available. I had planned to make a similar video with my RX-7 but the track day got cancelled for icy weather. Did you spend much time practicing that track in the sim before driving it in real life?

Aww I'm sorry to hear that. I probably logged about an hour worth of good sim time before going to the actual track and I'm glad I did. It helped me find the line.

I use assetto corsa for drift, but for road courses, the selection on Gran Turismo is my preference.

I would not consider Gran Tourismo a simulator. GT is a video game. There are some real sims out there but GT is not one.
