That is why I got a triple 27 inch 1080p monitor set-up. With 27 inches 1080p isn't a problem and you can get them with high refresh rate. Mine are 144hz. Got them very cheap because they are just HD. All of them together around 700 euro. So just a fraction of the cost of a single monitor in this. Also because of the HD they don't need a super PC since all of them together are probably easier than trying to get image from a singe 4K screen. So you can use your console or a normal average PC without spending thousands. I believe that is the best way to keep things low cost for average Joe's like us and still have a somewhat similar experience. I think everything together with the rig, wheel etc built are arount 3000. Didn't get anything for shaking my seat or anything because I don't really want to anyway but I can get one for another 3000 and one that moves everything with 5000 but I don't feel is worth it. Anyway spending 3000 that is just a very small fraction(some buy a single GPU for that money) of this setup and getting a whole rig and triple monitors etc so you i can have a full Sim experience is a great investment. So I propose everyone to think investing like I did. It really is a lot more approachable and doable.

In order to eliminate problems with head camera, you need a head tracker, 2 cameras fixed to the left and right of your head, mounted on the eye level, both should be connected to head tracker. In post with some overlap at the center and some crops to the sides. By this you would no longer have an issue of camera covering your view and no problems with straight lines since the cameras would be fixed at certain height.

To the channel owner… Power consumption… This rig consumes 1900 watts. In Australia our actual max power per peer circuit is actually 20amps. So max draw is 4800watts. Free advice. 10 amps is just what the outlet can handle. The 2.5mm(sq) twin and earth cable feeding the outlets can do 20 amps. So you are safe pulling 20amps from one circuit before trouble hits. 15amp outlets run on a dedicated 20amp cable. There is also 20amp outlets. No need for 3 phase until you reach the max current capacity of the wires from the street to your house, or a single item requires more than that. However it is true that 3 phase will give you a lot more max current capacity. If the feed in cables are 24mm(sq), I believe that's around 300amps total!

I live in Trentham so I just have to open the window. When I got second RTX280Ti and new I9-10940x @ 5.2. I managed to get in the top 50 in 3DMark Port Royal by moving everything close to a window and putting the CPU radiator and the GPU radiators just outside. It was about -1. Still I got briefly in the hall of fame before the 3090's rolled out. 3080's didn't have SLI and one 3090 was not enough. Even keeping them close to the window helped. Now I just use a cool room while I wait for for two RTX 4090Ti DVI enabled cards to come along.

19:05 Maybe you could have a small front surface mirror between your eyes and the camera mounted above it, shooting towards the ground? That will record the image mirrored but you can obviously flip the resulting image in software. I would assume the size of the mirror required for such a setup would be smaller than the camera. If you go with an angle that actually points the camera towards your neck, you could push the mirror really close to your nose.

Hadn’t thought of that but I like the idea.

You might want to look into cambox for a slightly less obnoxious helmet cam setup (I reckon even with your eye situation, no blockage would be better still), it's intended for racing helmets but I'm sure it's should be fine to affix to your bicycle helmet somehow.
@boostedmedia2 жыл бұрын
Looked into it a while back. The quality isn’t nearly as good as the gopro10 unfortunately. Especially low light performance which is critical to what we do.
@Dasspapirfly2 жыл бұрын
@@boostedmedia Ah, shame, well. good to know. Maybe there will be improvements in the future, at least from what I've seen helmet cams have become a lot more popular recently (both in real racing and for us normal plebs) so we might see some improvement there.

Just a heads up Will - 10A / 2400W is the capacity of each three pin outlet on the wall, not the circuit. Generally a GPO circuit in Australia is at least 16A, most commonly 20A. So you can run 4800W on a circuit, but only 2400W on each three pin outlet. Regardless, dividing the load up over two circuits is never a bad idea anyway!
@boostedmedia2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. Is there an actual standard that stipulates how much current each circuit should be able to draw? In my house we have 10A breakers on each circuit and most of the GPOs are piggybacked

Each GPO outlet in Australia is 10A.
@TommyTwoHanks12 жыл бұрын
@@boostedmedia No worries. Not specifically, you can have upwards of 20 GPOs on a circuit, the limitation will always be the size of the cabling/circuit breaker. The job of the circuit breaker is to protect the cabling before it overloads/melts. 10A breakers are commonly used on circuits run in 1.5mm CSA cabling (such as lighting), whereas GPO circuits are generally run in 2.5mm CSA cabling which can support 20A. The wiring standards (AS3000:2018) do specify that GPO circuits must be run in a minimum of 2.5mm CSA cabling, which would be protected in most situations by a 20A breaker. I would suggest that the 10A breakers in your board for the GPO circuits are either a mistake, or the cabling is undersized for the circuit for whatever reason. If upgrading the size of the breakers on your circuits is going to make a big difference for the ease of your setup, feel free to flick me a message and I'll talk you through confirming what the size of the cabling you have installed is etc. P.S. Love the channel!

@@TommyTwoHanks1 Dude you just got the wrong amperage on most circuits in homes and you are offering your "expertise"??? 10A Breakers arent a mistake they are the most common breakers in most households, you are pretending to be an expert and failing hard.
@TommyTwoHanks1 Жыл бұрын
Mate do you live in Australia? 10A is definitely not normal for a GPO circuit. The minimum cable size permitted on a GPO circuit is 2.5mm. Why would anyone want to limit it to 10A? 22:43 Theoretically, it can be solved by a head tracking system (like for VR HMD's), but this means a lot more calculation demand to the rendering

This setup is incredible and I bet it’s amazing to play in it. But… I feel like once VR is improved even more on top of what it is now, VR will be the way to go in the near future. At a much MUCH lower cost.

Absolutely. Maybe not for content creation, but otherwise provided you don’t get motion sick or eye fatigue I think we’ve probably already reached that point with products like the Varjo headsets.

If you're looking for a 3x HDMI GPU your only option is Gigabyte Aurus Extreme series. Butt there's only 2x 2.1 and 1x 2.0. Honestly though, you'll be playing in 1440p 120hz anyways so that 2.0 post isn't that bad.
@jdbeistline52302 жыл бұрын
Why did you spring for display panels instead of projectors? It would be a great way to circumvent the obstacle of hiding the bezels. Granted, the greatest point against using projectors would be the potentially large amount of space you might need depending on the orientation of them being either 'in front' or 'behind' the screens. I'd figure there would be a lot more overlap in terms of setup configuration between flight and racing sims.
