I ride on Series X and am completely satisfied with the Logitech G920! Yes, the gear technology is relatively noisy, but there is a simple solution to make it almost completely silent. If you have some manual skills, you can do the conversion for 1€ in just under half an hour (Warning!!! Warranty expires) Unscrew the steering wheel, remove both motors and you get to the gear rail. Degrease cleanly and stick a thin layer of felt (similar to chair gliders) to the bottom of the running surface. Then grease everything well (including the felt layer), assemble everything and almost not hear it anymore. Quieter than the rumble effect of a controller. Because it is not the gears that make the noise, but the play of the rack on the sliding surface. Works for me now more than 2000 hours without problems. Even in continuous use of uninterrupted 12 hours. Can of course also be used on the G29... To do this, of course, remove the rubber stopper in the brake and if you want it to be even more realistic, close the air outlet hole in the lower sleeve with a screw and hot glue. Insert a thin round rubber seal into the milling of this sleeve and grease it well. Put everything back together and you will be amazed. Due to this conversion, the air in the sleeve cannot escape and the harder the pedal is pressed, the more it is compressed. It's not rocket science and both conversions present you with a better driving experience.👋 Of course I left you a subscription

Just started getting into sim racing here’s what I did: Got the Logitech g920 wheel and pedals for £150 from amazon (half price), I attached it to my standard height desk from ikea and put the pedals against the wall and it worked great. Once I started getting into it I wanted to go further so I bought a Playseat Challenge from eBay for around £70 (usually over £200), it’s a folding deckchair like racing seat with tonnes of manoeuvrability and stability. It is also compatible with pretty much every mainstream wheel and pedal set up. Next I bought the Logitech shifter from amazon for around £25 and then bought a standard microphone bracket from eBay for about £10 to attach it to the chair, playseat offer a mount but it is about £30 which I though was far too expensive. Best thing to do is check second hand markets like eBay, gumtree and even Facebook, my whole set up is worth at least £600 if it was bought new but I got all of it for around £250 by doing this. As for sim racing, this goes for all platforms, assetto corsa and project cars are good to start on, if you have a pc you can try iRacing and mods for project cars (which make the game even better). I would not recommend buying a wheel to use on forza but it is definitely worth is for project cars and assetto corsa. If you enjoy sim racing I would highly recommend starting out with something like this.

I got a Logitech G920 a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. Force feedback always works great, and now that we're in quarantine I use it almost every day (sometimes too much at once, I'll admit). That said, it has never overheated, and almost never has any connecting issues. The break pedal "problem" doesn't bother me that much because after a while you just get used to it, and after some use it does start to break in a little. I have also heard great things about long-term reliability with the G920 and Logitech products in general. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who was looking into a sim wheel. (Also recommend buying on Best Buy, cheaper than buying straight from Logitech or Amazon.)

Fantastic review, that I found very informative. As a long term motor sports fanatic, the cancellation of the Australia F1 GP due to COVID-19 and the subsequent cancellation of all the international and national series I follow and a nightmare. At least I thought it was, until the first e-sports race with current and former drivers from just about every series and country. A few weeks later on, I am hooked and am now addicted to e-sports racing, especially by sim professionals. It has renewed my interest in play a game on my PC for the 1st since 1990 (other than solitaire of course). So you review game is very timely (which is also probably why you have dropped the update). As much as I like to spend for the wheels and peddles in $350 to $500 bracket (let alone above) the challenge is that in a country like Australia, where we are currently around 66 cents US for every Aussie Dollar, even the Logitech G29 RRP is $5000, although is available from some retailers for around $400. The Thrustmaster options, unfortunately are priced even higher. So Logitech G29 it is then. Just got to workout how I get that in the house unseen! G29 all day long. You can use the shifter as a handbrake (mapped to 4th) with paddles for shifting. Or, manual H pattern + clutch and a paddle for the handbrake. Replace 2 screws, attach an O-ring and you've got a sequential shifter. All for under £200 Also the wheel is top quality, comfy and has never over heated. Even with prolonged daily use.

I ride the Series X and am completely satisfied with the Logitech!

Thanks for this. I recently grabbed my Thrustmaster T500 RS servo and pedals with the Ferrari F1 racing wheel out of storage to play F1 2019. I forgot how fun it is. I had to stop using it in my old apartment because the feedback was so loud when I would hit the curb or crash that my downstairs neighbour could hear it and it bothered her. In my new apartment, it's not an issue and my daughter loves to watch me play! I play on PC only. I also have the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog kit that I hope someday I will get the motivation to re-learn and play DCS A-10C with.

I got a TMX wheel for around £139/$170 a couple of years back. Good button layout, nice paddle shifters and for a casual sim racer it is just a nice wheel. The pedal set is a bit basic, but work OK for me, and at least I know I can buy the T3PA pedals on their own and replace the basic pedals if I so desire. I am currently playing an F1 2019 career but have DiRT Rally, GRiD Autosport, Raceroom and some older titles, so like I say I'm a casual sim racer and for me the wheel works well enough.

At some point I’ll move on I think, but for now I’m still enjoying the sim experience the Logitech gives me. The leather wrapped and nicely stitched wheel, and solid industrial look and feel in three pedal set (I did add the H shifter) is pleasantly surprising especially compared to the “plastic-y” similar offerings from Thrustmaster. Great informative video all around, thank you for posting it. 👍

If you have money, just do it!!!! if you have not so much budget , dont be fool . just enjoy your game. you dont need 1500$gear to race, you do not need GPU 1500$ to play, you dont need 800$ gaming chair to play, all you need is compromise and patience ! Also _do your research! search forums, videos , likes-dislikes, people first wheel experience_ , Btw this video is very useful, and explains them beautifully and clearly. I will also share my experience with anyone who needs it in that sentence > G29 budget for starter is pretty good for 2 years of hard use, but after that, I will go for something more solid, and definitely not plastic. Sometimes it is finally worth giving them once and for all to get the expensive one. rather than two or three cheap. Also something last and short but very important. *DO NOT PLUG - UNPLUG* things . This reduces the service life of the device / cables / sockets. to any device.

Interesting that only 2.5 years ago the $500-1000 range was dominated by belt driven bases. I am just getting into the hobby and this price point is now filled with quality direct drive bases. I was originally opting for the $400 Logitech/Thrustmaster option but looking a bit deeper I discovered that spending 50% more takes you from a high quality toy to an entry level professional product. I ended up getting a Moza R9 system but a R5 bundle can be had for $600 though adding the $29 brake kit is mandatory in my opinion. The user interface and performance upgrade is pretty drastic and far beyond the 50% increase in cost. If you are able to stretch your budget I highly recommend it.

A few years ago I wanted to get into "sim racing", so I saved up some money to purchase a $300USD Logitech G25 wheel/pedal/shifter setup during a black friday sale. The Logitech G25 was a complete nightmare from the buggy Windows 7 driver support to the wheel that was not centered & would drift to the side when going straight (wheel was calibrated correctly using the Logitech software & reading many online forums). The entire thing is made out of cheap plastic & you are supposed to screw down the shifter to your desk but that is also made out of a cheap plastic material that breaks if you tighten it down too tight. I refunded my Logitech G25 wheel from Amazon & went back to using a Xbox 360/Xbox one controller, Logitech ended up burning too many bridges!

But I managed to find a brand new Logitech G923, shifter, AND a really good frame second hand on the marketplace for only $400 Australian dollars! That frame alone is like $350 rrp and the wheel in Australia is $599 rrp. Super happy with the purchase. I've tried the g29 and have to say the g923 brake pedal is soooo much better. Plus the wheel looks nicer being all black. Now that I'm happy with the wheel, I'll save up one day for a Fanatec wheel when I can afford to upgrade

I consider the the T300RS GT with 3 peddles to be one of my better purchases. I was able to find it for $202 new. A definite upgrade to my T150 with 2 peddles. I am not a "serious" sim racer like a lot of people here, but I do enjoy a good racing wheel to enhance the experience. My upgrade path has been T80, T150, T300RS. Each upgrade occurring with no buyers remorse. My next purchase may be the shifter, but I am not sure the price for the TH8A is worth it as I am not sure if I will like it. It costs more than either of my first 2 wheels by itself.

I've got a thrustmaster tmx wheel and overall it is a great wheel for the price. Although you do not get a three pedal set included, in my opinion the thrustmaster pedal set is higher quality than the offering from logitech. Also the shifter included with the logitech wheel is pretty low quality and if playing on console this is the only shifter you can use with the wheel, whilst the thrustmaster addon shifter is considerably more expensive i personally beleive that it is better value in the long term as it is a better quality shifter.
