Attack on Titan is the kind of show that you had to go in completely blind to enjoy every single surprise it has to offer, definitely recommend watching.

Nice! I've got no frame of reference here either, but this was enjoyable. The vocals remind me a bit of Billy Talent. I could listen to more of this. I'm guessing this is an established band performing the song? If so, I'm not familiar with them. I'd be curious if they have some material that isn't related to the show and how that compares. Good find!

Yea they are an established band, have done openings for some other shows as well as putting out 'normal' albums

If your not gonna watch the series I’d recommend reacting to all the openings and endings. Also check out “SIM - The Rumbling (Anime Special Ver)” on YT. Same song with Anime only footage. You won’t know what the hell is going on but it’s awesome to see regardless.

Attack on titan is about humanity living in really high walled city that's being attacked by gigantic humanoid monsters. It features some tech that allows the sending and retracting of ropes with hooks, making it for very interesting fights that make use of 3 dimensions, as the people try to reach high to target weak spots. It's pretty epic.

It is quite a good show, recommend it to anyone that enjoys really good long form story telling, that's much rarer in anime due to often just being singular seasons. For those interested in it it should be noted that it's currently not finished, the "Final Season: Final Arc" is yet to be published, iirc it'll air this winter season

@@SparkyTM nah, Attack on Titan is more than the topical battles and city they live in. It's deeply about oppression, war, persecution, the complexity of struggles of humanity, and the scourge of fascism.

rock is definitely more common in anime than metal, but several shows went for a metal sound. One I always enjoyed was the opening for the show watamote, "Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera ga Warui (私がモテないのはどう考えてもお前らが悪い)" by "Konomi Suzuki n' Kiba of Akiba". The show is rather different to attack on titan, it's about a girl that's basically the epitome of social awkwardness and anxiety, and the opening song is from her perspective. Another opening I enjoy, though I haven't watched the show, is "Virtue and Vice" by "Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas" from their Album Phase 2. It's featured in the show "Brynhildr in the Darkness", while I don't know much of the show this song is quite fun and more of the chaotic synthy side

I feel like for the final season of AOT they could have invented an even heavier form of metal and it would still be too light for the show.

please react to the first and second opening of attack on titan they are also good also i thing you didn't notice about the rumbling is that is chock full of references to attack on titan he said to go beyond the wall and die also all i wanted to do is save your life meaning mikasa a female character but never wanted to grab that knife i swear. meaning the main character killed some people that kidnapped mikasa so yea its full of imagery of the titans and references
