Simcity 2000 PC min specs are CPU 486 66Mhz and 8MB RAM.. probably $1800 machine in 1995.

@@ThaTruFily PS1 was made with 2D in mind too. It was designed in 16 bit(SNES, Megadrive) era and supports up to 4096 sprites on screen. Just developers started making nearly only 3D games later.

@@Deloix Saturn was good at 2D rendering but didn't have good poly counts plus they were squared polygons while the Ps1 had a better 3D. It is widely known.
