SimCity 3000 How-To Let's Play Series Preview Creating a Realistic City

A preview of my upcoming SimCity 3000 let's play / how-to series on creating a realistic, functioning and profitable city. It will be fully narrated and in HD.
The series will focus on creating a city from the ground up, starting with farms and suburbs. It will continue through creating industry, infrastructure, airports and seaports. Finally it will end with creating a downtown complete with plenty of skyscrapers!
I will not use any cheats during these videos. The focus will be on making the city profitable without them. The city will generate enough revenue to survive and continue to grow. Some find starting a city in SimCity 3000 hard, but if you stick to a few basic steps it's relatively simple.
This video was to to adjust the resolution and test out the screen capture software. It was a bit of a challenge getting a game from 1999 to run and be recorded in 1280x720 widescreen (720p60 HD), but it can be done!

Yes, it's been delayed a bit due to some health issues, but I'm hopeful to start soon.

Well then I must say that I'm eager to see those videos because I have some ideas on how to keep a city stable, but I've got no real guidance, or actual numbers, I kinda just eyeball it based on the RCI indicator and on the graphs screen. So I'd very much like to see your take on stability, since you seem to be the most knowledgeable person about this game that I've seen so far. Thanks for the timely answer, and have a good day!

Please how did you increased the land value at 1:49 so much? I don't see any park for example there

I do it by creating a high-value area with parks and lakes and when my desired buildings appear, I immediately 'make them historical' and bulldoze parks and lakes. I also just saw a good "tips" video also by Pavel which shows this too...

The ships in simcity 3000 are morea realistic than in simcity 4 - look at 0:52

in simcity 4 they would just crash that sand barrier and dissappear, then you would see that happen again million times. They don't have artificial intelligence

Lol I could never get highways to work in this game. The worst part is when the sims complain of road congestion and the highways sit empty 🤦🏻🤦🏻
