Do you think i'm absolutely nutso, or do you also hear the similarities to BAND-MAID?!
@ViiOlet8109 ай бұрын
They remind me more to Trident and maybe a bit of Scandal in the vocals. I like them 😊 I'm gonna look up more songs. Thank you Wave, I often find new music thanks to your channel 💜

On second thought, they did some Band-Maid thingie in parts, very subtle.

I said the exact thing to a friend of mine a couple of months ago and he disagreed with me. I guess we're both nutso.

Might just be my old ears (or my biased love of Band-Maid) but Band-Maid arrangements open up a bit more space for individuals to shine through, and based only on this song, Band-Maid holds a few more 'surprises' and cool 'ebbs and buildups' in their songs. Still awesome, it's good to see Band-Maid's influence breaking through at least in the Japanese music scene ... only good things can come from this :-)

yea man, i can definitely hear the similarities..Faulieu is an awesome technical band aswell..i don't get the other comments saying this is like a less technical version of BM and is more pop..
@masaboh-wbm9 ай бұрын
from Japan. I am “O-Meisyu-Sama(BAND-MAID FC Member)”. I'm very happy that you featured Faulieu. I am appreciate you, because they are my favorite band and I go to see them gigs. Faulieu.'s songs are softer and poppier than BAND-MAID's, but there are some similarities. 1) The members have a strong bond and get along very well 2) Their lyrics are positive 3) Everyone is so cute Append) The lead guitar is a PRS user, the bass is a 5-string player, and the drummer is a twin-kick-pedal player. Please keep an eye on them in the future.

I get it. I hear them doing a lot of the kinds of things that Band-Maid does. Which is nice, because for some reason it seems like no one wants to do that. Hearing this made me appreciate Band-Maid even more (which I didn't think was possible) because, to me, it shows that you can't just "do Band-Maid stuff" and have a song as good Band-Maid. Which I already believed; but because so few bands attempt it (that I've heard) it's hard to be certain. Anyway, I'm happy to hear a band writing like this and wish them all the best.

I think that this young lady's drum patterns match more with Rina. And, I could hear Tomomi singing lead on this one as well. Don't forget that SCANDAL can go hard-ass when they want to.

For me, it feels like a mix of Trident and Scandal, but with stronger basslines than either.

Scandal or Polkadot Stingray for me. Thanks for posting though I'm going to give them a listen ❤

Yeah. PSr was my first thought as well ... great singing, but if you're not used to Japanese Kawaii voices, it can be a bit 'unusual' upon first listen ... but well worth the patience and effort to 'get used' to those voices because they are incredible in their own right.

Big Trident vibes but more players and more complex structure
@roygillotti46159 ай бұрын
I mean I get more Scandal feelings from this...
@vincenzo-maidiac-54579 ай бұрын
The structure is very Band Maid, the sound is more Scandal. This shows that it's not the structure that counts, but who makes it ;). Unparalleled Kanami.

Kind of like bandmaid with a pinch of sokoninaru. That's praise. Both bands give permission to be both proggy and poppy. Obviously the physical image is a summons to madiacs, particularly those who can't handle the gnarliest brain frying aspects of bandmaid.

I poked around on their YT channel. Compared to BAND-MAID, on average, they have a lighter/poppier sound. However, they are well crafted and more complex songs than your average pop rock band. I wish them luck on their return.

"Similar to BAND-MAID!" You don't talk that way. Well, I think it would be a mistake for you to identify this band with the BAND-MAID lineage, no matter how much of a BAND-MAID fan you are. As someone else said, I think this band is in the "Scandal" vein. Scandal" with a strong guitarist and hard rock, I guess. This band is not similar to "Scandal" just because they are of the "Scandal" type, since the time of fleufleu. Well, the guitarist of this band is very talented, and if the band can keep writing songs, I strongly feel that "Faulieu" has the potential to develop.

As a songwriter, I see a lot more compositional and performance similarities to BAND-MAID. But that’s just my perception!

I hear Band Maid Lite! Maybe because they are a hard rock with melodic vocals.

Yesh a little bit but the Vocal sound its differents from Saiki... More kind like Thinner Voice... Hhe... But they really a good band

Not nuts. I see what you mean and I thought right off that the singer sounded more like Miku than Saiki. I wonder who was singing the harmony parts? There seemed to be mics in front of several of them but the vid never really showed who else was singing.

If I listen carefully to your points, I can understand what you are trying to say, and at the same time, I can also understand how special BAND-MAID is. There are many great bands in Japan, but when you listen to them side by side, BAND-MAID's individuality stands out. This doesn't depend on your technique or your favorite genre, but if you have an ear for listening to music normally, you should be able to feel the individuality of BAND-MAID. From Japan

I hear it. Sort of influenced by B-M, but a lot more poppy and not as intricate songwriting. Not bad though.

@WavePotter are you saying that they are similar to Cluppo songs ?

Yeah, similar to a four piece Band-Maid (without Saiki) in an alternate, idol-based universe. I can see it, Wave! 🤘🤔

Ummm not much. The vocal reminds me of Miku a bit but other than that, sounds like melodic J-rock without kookiness in sound.

I 've known FleuFleu - now "Feaulieu" - for years and have never thought so at all. Good musicians but lacking the extra talent IMO.

Some visual similarities as well, the white outfits with the black ties, and looks like the guitarist is all in black. Something about imitation and flattery? 😅
