Waterloo chooses to modify certain details for a better narritive (they choose to recreate that famous painting for instance instead of making it 100% accurate for instance), a perfect blend of "Don't let the truth stand in the way of a good story" and an accurate retelling of the actual events. I have yet to see that Napoleon movie, but from what I've seen and heard (quite reliable if I do say so myself) it is pure british propaganda. And not enjoyable propaganda like Sharpe.
