SimMakerz magnetic shifters for Fanatec McLaren GT3 V2 wheel

Very nice video. Had these shifters for 10months or so. Definite upgrade from stock rocker paddles, but experienced 3 issues. 1) left shift paddle would periodically miss shifts = SimMakerz sent me replacement switches free of charge. It didn't completely fixed the issue, as some very fast shifts still does not register. 2) also noticing little "play" on right shift paddle where it moves a bit(similar to Jason highlighted in this video). Manufacturing variations. Not really noticeable, but it's there when you feel for it. Summary = Product & function = A-, Design = A, Price = comparable to others online, Customer support = A+.

Love these shifters. So much better than the standard one. I ordered them also for my BMW GT2 v1 wheel. That was really an upgrade.

I just got mine yesterday and already installed. Is a nice improvement with the sound and feel, but I don't really think it was necessary the upgrade. I know the original ones can be a bit painfull after a long race, but I never had issues with miss shifting or something and since I only race with headset on the noise wasn't really an issue. The only thing I think it lacks its the adjustment of the paddles. They came all the way on its maximum adjustment and its just good enough for my hands, but for my wife I am pretty sure she should have some trouble trying to reach them with her fingers. If the paddles were 1 centimeter longer or maybe half, it would be perfect.

Just installed these and one is perfect and the other one has lot's of movement creating the same sensation you describe. I had some SRM paddles that I thing work better so I shaped them to fit and used some of the left overs to shim the movement on the right shifter, one drop of hobby clue and placed in slot on both sides and now there's no slop and it shifts perfectly. The bigger SRM paddles extent about 3/8" further out and fully extended about 5/8" which makes it easier to reach. It's now a $400 wheel but it feels good and the shifting experience is greatly improved.

I have the same paddles. Love them. You had me worried there was an issue I just hadn’t noticed. So of course I had to check. Those little parts that hold the magnets have zero movement at all on mine. Maybe just reach out to them and see if they’re just out of tolerance?

Hello, I have assembled the same set, and I had the same feeling with the clearance. I solved it by fixing the piece in its position with a drop of cyanoacrylate. Greetings and thanks.

Good vid, just installed them work great, original one the little white lets call it silicon stopper on the back side of the orange paddle was falling out causing no shifting to take place, end of race lol.

I passed on the paddles when I ordered but the stock paddles get tough after a while. Definitely thinking about upgrading

The factory paddle is problematic too which is why I upgraded, I’ve heard this from a few other people as well but I just waited for the factory one to fail then upgraded
