Visit the link below to learn more about striped bass management and how you can get involved today. saltwaterguide...
Every year, migration of epic proportions takes place along the Eastern Seaboard of America. From the Carolinas to Canada, anglers flock to the rocky coastlines, estuaries, rivers, and inshore waters to target one of America’s most iconic gamefish- the Striped Bass. Despite its popularity and significance to the coastal communities in the Northeast, the fishery is once again in major jeopardy. The last time this happened, we witnessed one of the greatest conservation success stories of all time, restoring the stock to astronomical numbers.
Today, the question on everyone’s mind- can we do it again?

Mismanagement and uninformed anglers brought us here, but it’s not too late to save this fish. They’re worth more in the water and need to be viewed as the game fish that they are! Great work Simms and KGB Productions!!

Great Film; Love it...In order to truly save these fish WE have to look at EVERTHING.. From the Party Boats in the East to the gill netter in the south and the massive population of seals in between the both of them , because they all played a roll here..

Thank you for this wonderful conservation documentary, Simms. Plain and simple, the striper population is hurting and we need better regulations to preserve the biomass of fish. Please share this with your friends and family to spread awareness.

Bravo Simms for producing this, especially with angling exploding with new folks who don’t understand or pay attention. I fished Nantucket in the early 70’s and now live in North Carolina. I’m happy for others to experience a passion I’ve had over 60 years, but I have always respected the fish and conservation. Those who know must teach those who need to know… Thank You Again 🙏

My favorite line is about anecdotal evidence. Wish more people could see that. Just because you're still catching big stripers and getting into blitzes doesn't mean the population is healthy everywhere!

They go a lot farther North than Maine. Can catch them in Canada up to Quebec. New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and P.E.I. are getting unprecedented numbers and it’s created an exciting new sport fishery.

@@michaelnice93 you're digging way too deep here. The guy that produced this video grew up in the Northeast fishing for stripers and wanted to spread their story in a video... that's all. Simms sponsors plenty of videos that tell stories (watch Might Waters on KZbin, which is also Simms sponsored), yes they do it for exposure (they're a business, videos like this cost a lot of money, they have to justify it somehow) but they aren't changing the narrative or doing it solely to sell more products.

When you have striper in your water, go chase em! I live in CA and I fish for striper way more than bass. If the striper are there, they’ll eat anything! I mean anything! They bit jigs, to senko to drop shot !

Where I'm from sea bass is one of the most coveted fishes. Most people can only afford the farmed ones. The wild ones sale for over 50€/Kg. Anyone releasing sea basses would be conducted to a mental asylum

As a informed angler I totally get why we should catch and release, but if it’s true that you want the fish numbers to rise why not tell the anglers to stop for a while? Oh wait that would mean they don’t buy the products ok. Just sayin’ the recreational shore fishermen are not the primary culprits for lowering the numbers of fish. This video has a certain message for a certain reason but it’s oversimplifies. I’m thinking they guys with the boats, the commercial fishermen and perhaps seals are most responsible for the decline in numbers. There may be a few issues in the breeding ground habitats I don’t know about. Honestly I would like to be more informed but this video is made by cherry picking opinions to put out a streamlined message. Something is fishy here, I’m not swallowing it hook line and sinker, I will do my own research.
