God???!!!.. Which god??? Achelous - Greek. Achelous was a Greek god of water and rivers. Achilles - Greek. Pain. Achilles is one of the heroes of the Trojan War. Adonis - Greek. Lord. Adonis was the human lover of the goddess of love and passion, Aphrodite. Adonis was supposed to have been supremely handsome. Aella - Greek. Whirlwind. Aella was an Amazon warrior killed by Theseus. Aesop - Greek. The meaning of this name is unclear, but Aesop’s fables are stories we still tell today. This storyteller’s work has stood the test of time. Ajax - Greek. Eagle. Ajax was one of the heroes who fought at the Battle of Troy. Alexander - Latin. Defender of man. Alexander the Great was the historical king of the Greecian kingdom of Macedon. He became king at the age of twenty and is well known for his military logic and skills. He died at the age of 32 in 323 B.C.E. Apollo - Greek. Destroyer. Apollo is the god of light, music, and poetry. Apollo is famous for the chariot he rides across the sky. Apollo gifted the seer Cassandra with her gifts but cursed her never to be believed because she refused to be his lover. Artemis - Butcher. Artemis is the Greek goddess of the hunt. Traditionally this was a girl’s name but is now considered unisex. Artemis had a famous grandmother, Phoebe, one of the original titans. Ares - Greek. Ares was the god of war. Argo - Greek. The Argo was the name of the ship Jason sailed on as he searched for the Golden Fleece. Argus - Greek. Watchful guardian. It is a creature with one-hundred eyes. An alternative spelling is Argos. Asia - Greek. Sunrise. Asia was the daughter of the sea god Oceanus. Although, traditionally, a girl’s name, we think it could work for a boy as well. Athens - Greek. Athens is the capital city of Greece, named after the goddess Athena. Athena is the goddess of wisdom. Atlas - Greek. Enduring. Atlas was the titan tasked with carrying the world on his shoulders. Brontes - Greek. Thunder. Traditionally a female name, but it has a gender-neutral sound to it. Bronte was one of the original titans. Cadmus - Greek. One who excels. He was a famous slayer of serpents. Castor - Greek. It comes from the Greek word for beaver kastor-one of Zeus’s sons and part of the Gemini twins with Pollux. Caleus - Latin. Caleus is the Roman equal to Uranus, the original male Greek deity. However, we figure most people aren’t too keen to name their child Uranus. Cepheus - Greek. Rock. Campus is a constellation that Ptolemy named. Cephus is famous for being the father of Andromeda, husband to Cassiopeia, and the King of Ethiopia. Charon - Greek. Fierce brightness. Charon was the operator of the underworld ferry who brought people into Hades. Cronus - Greek. The meaning of the name is unclear, but Cronos was the second god to rule the universe after he overthrew his father, Uranus. According to Greek mythology, Cronos was also the son of Gaia, the personification of the earth and the first deity ever to exist.

There has never been a better usage of this song than in Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. And it didn't even involve any of the lyrics other than the beginning doo doo doo's. Within the first 20 minutes of the film, it's used brilliantly in a scene where the older character(Brad Pitt), watches the girl walk past him in an atmospheric Hollywood sunset. It's just so beautiful.

Mrs. Robinson, trying to figure out the real meanings of the lyrics is something I've always enjoyed doing.... Once you know the how's n the why's of the whole "HollyWood" scene, ALL the why's it was created for America it just makes me ponder these things more intently....I try to look at the era the song was let out to the public just a little more closely n try to put myself in that era in my mind by studying all the things that were happening the decade before n after the song was put out for the public to enjoy! The genius of the best songwriters are making the song go right over the heads of mankind, never ever really letting on to the true meanings of the lyrics to the sleeping masses! It's a game with so many hints n clues to get you to the real gems of those meanings! Something that I absolutely love trying to decipher n play to get it right in the end! Kinda opens up a secret world that most just never get to see running parallel to our own, it's almost like you're living in a never-ending episode of the Twillight Zone , once you get yourself in the zone there's no way out! 🤔🤦♀️🤷♀️ God bless America , May God than bless the whole earth in doing so 🙏🥰 🙏🇺🇸❤🤍💙🇺🇸🙏

Robinson) an.

Okay, I'm going to be accused of stalking Paul's songs here on You Tube, but I have to say it... Paul's lyrics tend towards disconnected thoughts that don't make a great deal of sense, not just in this song, but in many of his hits. I'm sure a lot of viewers want to assign deep meanings to his lyrics, but I really believe there's not a whole lot to work with most of the time. He got better at telling real stories in his solo career, but when he was with Garfunkel a lot of it, in my opinion, was just finding words that rhymed.

I remember the song being played to death on the radio in 68. I only recently watched the whole movie - which has little to do with the song's lyrics. However... my mom had a friend who had just gotten married for the second time, and that couple hung out with another couple... the Robinsons. And it turned out my mom's friend's new hubby was doing.... you guessed it Mrs. Robinson. The whole time, before and after... so I always think of that whole affair now when I hear this song.

And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson Jesus loves you more than you will know, wo wo wo God bless you please, Mrs. Robinson Heaven holds a place for those who pray, hey hey hey Hey hey hey We'd like to know a little bit about you for our files We'd like to help you learn to help yourself Look around you, all you see are sympathetic eyes Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson Jesus loves you more than you will know, wo wo wo God bless you please, Mrs. Robinson Heaven holds a place for those who pray, hey hey hey Hey hey hey Hide it in a hiding place where no one ever goes Put it in your pantry with your cupcakes It's a little secret, just the Robinsons' affair Most of all, you've got to hide it from the kids Coo coo ca-choo, Mrs. Robinson Jesus loves you more than you will know, wo wo wo God bless you please, Mrs. Robinson Heaven holds a place for those who pray, hey hey hey Hey hey hey Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon Going to the candidates' debate Laugh about it, shout about it When you've got to choose Every way you look at it you lose Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? A nation turns its lonely eyes to you, wo wo wo What's that you say, Mrs. Robinson 'Joltin Joe' has left and gone away, hey hey hey Hey hey hey

i guess you also noticed the typo (prey instead of pray, which turns that whole sentence upside down)
@sweets1964s2 жыл бұрын
@@mrxmry3264 Which makes sense today. The Queen was played by a Mrs Robinson. I believe the true spelling to be prey. The Queen was a predator.

I always thought this song was a Beatles song, then I typed it up and saw it was Simon and Garfunkel. Now, I remember my dad playing their music while I went to bed. I never really payed attention to them, also I could never remember their names. But now some years later, I love them! My friends are getting annoyed of me talking about them....^_^

I grew up in this era. I'm old, but I will die with it rather than be young today.

Your not old, young at heart like the day you first heard this tune
@dreamingflurry27294 жыл бұрын
Sincerely, I don't believe that! Everybody would IMHO jump at the chance to be young again - no, not a do over, simply being rejuvenated (it doesn't mean you'd have to go to school again etc.)

I've know this song for a very long time but I don't know the title and only the "oh", "eh" and "uh" are all that I remember. Glad I knew about this now.
