Julian helped me when I got tinnitus 3 years ago. The constant buzzing in my ears was dreadful . Julian is very calm and he reduced my panic levels. I now only notice my tinnitus when I think about it. When Julian talked about habituation I thought that would never happen to me. But it has. Thank you Julian.

I wanna share a new tip/trick with you since this is my favorite page. Definitely try this. 1. Listen to music or something you find engaging. 2. Pause the sound and try to continue the exercise by looking for the sound you desire to hear. 3. Go back and forth between listening and pausing and trying to find the continuation of the sound you intended on hearing if you were to keep the music or desired noise present. I've found this very helpful. Its almost like your searching for a more desirable or different sound then your tinnitus. I don't think I recommend doing this with a noise that matches your tinnitus because the direction your mind can take may not be beneficial but everyone is different. Good luck. I will quickly share my story. I foolishly shot off many rounds with a 40 cal handgun with no protection. My tinnitus has been chronic ever since. It was hard to get used to but there was a few things distracted me and made me pretty much completely forget about it. The first was falling in love. That feeling took my attention completely away for a long time. Stress would take over but I knew there was a way to improve. Next was a couple of injuries. Sever neck strain that scared the death out of me and a tearing a muscle in my leg that scared the death out of me as well. Both issues have been resolved to the point of comfort and now I'm dealing with the obstacle of tinnitus all over again. I'm choosing to use this as another time to grow and improve. I'm prone to anexiety and detrimental thoughts which makes it hard but a lot of the insight on this page is helping a great deal. Thanks for all the help.

EMDR & Yoga really helped me to get rid of the extreme panic levels I wasn't even aware of, which rebalanced my brain & body and I started to heal. Staying away from negative messages is important too (not only about tinnitus & hyperacusis, but negative people or stories in general).

@hannad.2104
@hannad.2104 4 жыл бұрын
@@penapravoce494 It's a method that helps to cope with trauma, panic and anxiety (also helpful for people with ptsd). In my case I had developed a panic disorder. So the anxiety levels were extremely high and therefore I was constantly in a fight and flight mode, which is not helpful if you would like to get rid of tinnitus or hyperacusis. Feeling safe and calm is very important. Good luck 🍀

I have tinnitus for 2 months now i had my first craniosacral therapy it helped sooooo much. When i got to the therapist i was at 11 because i had a really poor quality food the day b4 ( i know my fault, will never do it again) when she was done my T gradually subsided to the point i woke up in silence the next day. As the day went on it did spike but only to a 2 and it stayed there 3 days later. Foot reflexology helps too.

This is great guys. I’ve had tinnitus for a while but having been through the real bad time of fight or flight, I find it easy to handle...I don’t hear it as much and I expect that to continue. ASMR and reading helps me. Keep up the good work - people need to know that it does get better 👍👍

ASMR stands for autonomous sensory meridian response. It’s kind of a relaxing, tingly feeling that some people get when listening to soft voices, pages turning etc. There’s lots of ASMR artists on KZbin e.g Whispers Red is a good one.

@Julien I have a question.. I’ve had Tinnitus for 9 month now and I’m doing much better then in the beginning. I have days that my T is very low and only in my left ear. But every couple of days I get a spike and it’s in both ears and my head. But after 2 days it’s back down. The Odd thing is the spikes comes on after a nap or I’ve slept at night. I don’t know if it’s bad dreams and I’m stressed from them or what it could be... Would love your input on this. And Thank you very much!!

I started having tinnitus in the beginning of January 2019, and since then my life is hell. I was on depression pills for two months. I pushed myself to get back to life when I found out I am pregnant. I look good and healthy except for one time when I lost 20 pounds. I still get depressed and I believe something is wrong with brain functioning I can feel that. I don’t sleep good from one year and also my left ear is crackling all the time when I open my mouth. I am 6 months pregnant. I pray for my baby. My mother passed away when I was young and I didn’t want my baby to be without me. Nobody can help. This world is all about money which I don’t have.

I'm 4 months in with Tinnitus and Hyperacusis now. The H is worse. T has faded into the background a bit compared from day 1. The fridge, freezer, car used to drive me insane at first, that has stopped but now instead I've got sudden pain when hearing kitchen utensils, light switches, screaming kids, tapping spoons, ripping paper, plastic bottles bags etc. What do you make of pink noise? Some people say its helped and others not. And I don't use ear plugs due to making it worse potentially becoming over sensitive..? Thanks

Julian, So in your opinion neck tension is a another sympthom of stress? It's not cause of tinnitus?
@JulianCowanHill
@JulianCowanHill Жыл бұрын
Yes. When we become overwhelmed, we all like a rabbit in front of the headlights. Our head, face, shoulders, and neck freeze and become rigid. When this happens, all sensors become ultra sensitive at the same time. When we are bracing ourselves, gentle, cranial work is often much better than more forceful treatments that can cause resistance to spike.

This is very common. Hands-on help eases structural tension which helps the tinnitus activation come down.

Tiinitus CAUSES me a lot of stress b/c it is maddening. The question is this: am I stressed b/c of my Tinnitus or does stress cause my tinnitus? I know my response to tinnitus makes it worse......... I have two kinds of tinnitus: the high pitched kind in one ear, which bothers me not at all. I don't know when I got it, never had to work at habituating to it...but the other one, which is low frequency, sounds like an engine idling most of the time, some days it sounds like a bullet train, both of which are accompanied by vibrations which I feel constantly, in any part of my body that es into contact with the floor either directly or indirectly. It drives me mad, makes the tinnitus worse.I can't tell which ear the engine idling comes from. Nor can I in general tell which direction sounds come from. I hear a wren singing, try to find it, but can't tell which direction to look.

skateelectricnik - I think so. Having listened to Julian and having seen a specialist who agrees - yes - it’s all about the fear factor. You will adjust and then you just don’t hear it as much. Takes time but it does get better.

Yes. Your brain is very powerful and can "heal" by filtering out the noise. Also, damaged nerves can heal, but it does take a while.

Hi, thank you for this video. You often mention the nervous system being responsible for chronic tinnitus but there are others brain parts involved in the tinnitus and some of them are unfortunately maladaptive. How is it possible to definitely cure tinnitus if some parts of the brain responsible for chronic tinnitus can't rewire?

If you can habituate to the point where it has no effect on you and you can't even hear it unless you really focus on it. Imo, that is as good as getting rid of it. The only thing is you will need to take extra care to protect your ears, because it can flare up very easily again.

Your ears will be buzzing at the beginning and then once you get into a conversation and start focussing on them and enjoying their company then your ears will change. So after 5 minutes you may feel a bit better, after half an hour you may be much much better and able to focus on things clearly.
