Now this is a fantastic episode of the Fourth Series. I always like how Rheneas was determined to get the passengers home despite the bad weather

Gallant Old Engine in my opinion is very good :) The story Skarloey told Duncan and Peter Sam is relaxing and very nice. I remember when I was little, I had this dream where Skarloey's story plays in my mind Rheneas is always one of my favorite narrow gauge engines next to Skarloey

Another favourite of mine from Season 4. Seeing Rheneas determined to get the passengers home safely really made me admire him, and Duncan’s character growth is amazing too.

I really loved this episode from the moment I saw it. The part with Rheneas battling the wet and stormy weather was my favourite bit. The music that they used again from 'Percy's Promise' was what made this story go onto my favourite list. Michael Angelis did another superb job narrating this story. I loved how he made Duncan grumble, Rheneas groan and Skarloey tell the story to Duncan. But the last line from Rheneas is what gave this episode a wonderful ending 😊.

That final line from Rheneas is probably another contender for most heartfelt endings in Thomas.

This is one of my favourite episodes from Season 4 and the music as well as the shots even camera angles. Michael Angelis: Rheneas did his best.

An okay adaptation for me. I liked the themes and narration as always, as Mike, Junior and Michael never disappoint as usual. And I was glad that they kept Rheneas’s determination to save his railway from being closed in the adaptation’s text. Though I wish they had the time to include many stuff that was in the book version, e.g. a shortage of staff and coaches, the extra dialogue of Skarloey telling Duncan off etc. Rheneas is my favourite narrow gauge engine for this story alone, as he knew he had to keep going or else the entire railway would have closed. So he was a big hero for that fact alone.

Rheneas' determination is similar to that of both Skarloey and Edward's. However, unlike those two - he was told to do it for the passengers and had to keep trying due to the SKR at higher stakes during dark times. His story directly based on his real twin counterpart Dolgoch is fascinating. All the Narrow-Gauge episodes plus the Stepney episodes really feel like a giant movie of S4.

Edward, Percy and Rheneas had fought through stormy weather countless times.

Funny that Rheneas briefly has Smudger's sad face at the beginning of the story.

Just like Edward did in Edwards exploit, Rheneas really shined as a character in this episode and just like Skarloey it makes me mad he got butchered as a character by (s)Hit
