This movie saved my relationship with my parents. I came out to my parents when I was in grade seven, they wouldn't talk about me being pansexual or really anything but straight to my extended family for years. When I had a girlfriend they would act as if she was justa friend After I came out as being transgender in ten, it got worse, they would just really avoid talking about me. They wouldn't think about the fact that I'm their son and not their daughter. I watched this movie with my girlfriend for the first time. Then I made my parents come to see it with me the second time. They accepted that I was pansexual, maybe after seeing Simon's struggles, I don't know, all I know is it helped. They still don't accept me being trans but now, going into my grade twelve year of school, after five or six years of struggling to be accepted by my parents, I finally am. And a large portion of it is because of this movie.

I really like the way this is put together. I appreciate how it builds up to ending being the importance of saying, "I love you". No sermons. No cut downs. No drawn out arguments, questions or judgements. Just acknowledging that all that really needs to be said is "I love you."

i love this film with all my heart💗 when i went to watch this film for the second time i was alone and someone was kind enough to ask me to sit with them and their friends. right after the film finished they said how the film “inspired them to want to come out again” and i feel like this is such a beautiful thing and goes to show how incredible a film like love, simon is and how it will truly affect people in a positive way. this film is beautiful and so is this edit🏳️‍🌈❤️
