This movie saved my relationship with my parents. I came out to my parents when I was in grade seven, they wouldn't talk about me being pansexual or really anything but straight to my extended family for years. When I had a girlfriend they would act as if she was justa friend After I came out as being transgender in ten, it got worse, they would just really avoid talking about me. They wouldn't think about the fact that I'm their son and not their daughter. I watched this movie with my girlfriend for the first time. Then I made my parents come to see it with me the second time. They accepted that I was pansexual, maybe after seeing Simon's struggles, I don't know, all I know is it helped. They still don't accept me being trans but now, going into my grade twelve year of school, after five or six years of struggling to be accepted by my parents, I finally am. And a large portion of it is because of this movie.

Okay so, I've been bingeing clips and trailers of this movie. Most of them made me squeal and scream like the lesbean I am (yes, I spelled that right.) But this one really hit me hard for some reason. It just brought back all of the fear and shame of being who I am. Like that scene with Cal looking at Simon and just shaking his head. It's so much shame. And this really, for some weird reason, really spoke to me. I mean the whole movie spoke to me but this video just hit me hard. Sorry, I'm like repeating myself but it's so true. There is nothing like the fear and embarrassment of other people knowing something about you. Something so secret that it scares even you. And when other people know it. The looks, the whispers. It's not fake or just for show. It's real, and it's terrible..

I want it to be love because I also experienced something similar lately... it didn't turn out as I wanted and he told me I was infatuated with him, and that's not love... Deep down inside, I know it's more than infatuation... Even if it was just infatuation, I'm willing to make it blossom into love. But very unfortunately, that's not gonna happen. I was heartbroken and am in the process of healing. While I'm trying to forget him, I'm secretly hoping that someday fate will give us one more chance to get to know each other more, to let us love to the fullest and to decide if we are meant for each other.
