I've got abit of a theory about the whole media bias and Simon floats like a leaf in a stream where the current takes it.. The Premiership is only the best in the world because of the money spent, example of that is all of the so called top 4 was all knocked out of the champions league. Secondly the Premiership is so successful because not of the money teams spent but because of the massive sponsorship deals and the sence of elitism the broadcasters put on to it.. Thirdly.. this whole thing around fair play and sustainability is BS, it just insure teams like Manchester United, Chealsa etal who had a very poor season can spend their way out of trouble because of the money they bring in.. And finally, this might be a unpopular view but iam 100% sure if it wasn't for fans kicking a fuss up, the so called top four would of easily be up for entering the super league, 10 billion a year, they would of all jumped ship. So now they are looking ways of stopping teams like Villa and Newcastle.. Just my 10 pence fella Upthevilla

I've had it with him..in the past and for as long as I've known his always one hundred percent of the time has bigged up villa as a football club sighting his interactions in the past with Doug Ellis who he grew to really like ..his also praised the club as a classy old traditional English football club and recently waxed lyrical about our recent rise under the new ownership and Unai..so it was a massive suprise as soon as we clinched top four and a champions league spot and also getting to a European cup semi final he all of a sudden starts to go against the club and already talking g about Aston Villa sacking Unai as soon as next season if we start to lose a few games..I swear I was nearly taken in by him in thinking he might just be one of the good ones in mainstream media by sticking up for clubs like villa etc etc who aren't your traditional top 4/5 teams that sky and the mainstream suck off all the time..his really shown his true colours this time for me..and tell me..why all of a sudden has simon fucking jordan become the oracle on everything and everyone hanging on his every word..baffling

I usually take the approach of never listening to what pundit say. My primary exposure to pundits is what they say on Twitter and what happens to go viral. The thing is pundit say a lot of stuff, like the very stuff that you mentioned, that they may not even believe themselves. What they know will happen is everybody will get wound up about it and talk about it. People will share it saying I agree with it or I disagree with it and they go viral. The more viral they go the more people who want to hear how ridiculous it is so more people will look it up. The more people who play it in the end, the more money the original person who spewing nonsense makes. Don’t let them get to you. whatever team anybody supports support your team… You know your club. Don’t let the Talking Heads who are only trying to get a larger payday by going viral get under your skin. We have the same thing in the United States. In football, the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys make up over half of the cycle and when they aren’t performing well, what’s wrong… Same thing with the Yankees and Dodgers in baseball. Talking Heads sings stupid stuff about the most popular clubs to get everybody else riled up is not a concept unique to the English Premier league. What they’re doing is intentional and they will continue to do it intentionally.

HI there. Ilive in Australia and listen to talksport to keep up to date with the Prem League. But in the last few days I also have been disgusted with comments by Jordan, Goldstein and co. It is possible that they say these crazy things to get up opinion or to make publicity, but i really think they believe it. Sick of hearing how Unai and now Ollie would gleefully run over to play with Manure. These comments are disrespectfull to say the least. Not sure Villa can match the spending of these greedy 6 yet. FFP will restrict our spending despite our wealth, and Manure's income is approx 4 times more than Villa's. Villa is working hard to bridge that financial gap and to continually grow our brand. Revenue from Champions league is a min 55 Million, on top of our shirt sponsorships being increased by approx 20 million shows we are on the right track, but still have a lot to do as I think we need another 200 million per season to match the greedy six financially. Hopefully Unai winning will help us to grow our club even more. UTV.

The reality is that Villa have rattled a few people by our perfornance since Unai has joined. We need to be ready to get attacked in the media. Love the passion. Painting Villa and Newcastle as the heroes against the super six super villains is hilarious. Although I don't agree that Emery will get sacked if doesn't get top 4, I do believe Villa will struggle to come top 5 next season. Newcastle, Chelsea and United will likely be improved!

On what evidence will United improve? Their league position is nothing short of flattering this season, their name has carried them. What top player would go there next season? We (Villa) are a top half club and are only going to improve next season. We lost THREE first team players in the first couple of games, lost all our midfield in recent weeks and still got forth. Villa are gonna be decent for a few years, maybe we don't get top 4 next season but I see our trophy drought ending soon!

@@stephenduckham9736 Some reasons why I think United will improve and give Villa some trouble next season: - United have a bigger budget and are a bigger club than Villa. - Villa getting 70 points is a huge season for them but United got more points than that in 2 of the previous 3 years. - United won’t have midweek fixtures. - They will still be able to attract better players than Villa. - They may have a new manager which will give them a boost next season (as it always does in the short term for them). I think a lot of credit is due to Villa but Simon Jordan’s assessment of them is very fair. Hopefully they prove him and myself wrong by continuing to qualify for the Champions League.
