@S. comparing failing employees to a mass murderer is a wild stretch and in no way accurate to this situation. They haven’t hired people who have a history of failing at running football clubs, so the fact they failed isn’t on them. The length of time they stayed in situ is. The argument that can be made is what do you class as a failure? As a football fan obviously not winning a trophy is failure. As the owner of a business that is making more and more money, have these people failed their employers? No. Ultimately they own a business that makes them money, a few people not liking them won’t change that fact.

There is no ambition anymore at Utd to be the best club in the world. The Glazers have been a textbook on how to ruin a club. I fully support the protests. Man Utd problems all begin with the Glazers. Man Utd is a big brand and there must be a billionaire out there that is willing to buy the club. Yes, a football club is a business but it's a very special kind of business, especially in the case of football in England. You can't expect to run it like Walmart (or pick your favorite giant American corporation). For the Glazers though, it's clear that Man U is just a marketing cash cow. They've signed (a good number of) vanity players that can sell merchandize. That's all they seem to care about. If Ten Haag has any kind of sense about him, he'll run as far and fast as he can in the opposite direction. If doesn't matter who the manager or players are if the club doesn't exist to compete. No reasonable football fan expects unlimited spending and unlimited success, but they do expect a club to have objectives beyond just making money. I'm not a Man U fan but I don't think it's good for English, or any football if this profits-over-people attitude is allowed to take over the sport. I don't actually believe it's a good attitude for society-at-large but that's another argument for a different day. You can be both a successful football club AND make money. It doesn't have to be one of the other.

The players are a product and victim of the environment the club has built post-Ferguson. It's not their fault the club gave them stupid amounts of money and it's not really their fault that the environment is the way it is. For a team this big we have coaches that have no business being there, a lack of a playing style after so many years, and an incoherent transfer policy. Jordan is correct. The Protest will make absolutely no difference. United are a business and as owners they will leave the club when they feel it’s the right business decision. Pure and simple. The fans can protest, that’s their right but it will be to no avail. United fans are frustrated and I understand that, but they are no more frustrated than Arsenal fans or Everton fans. United fans had an unprecedented run of success in which their club averaged winning a Prem Title every 2 years for 26 years. That’s not going to happen again. With that a certain amount of a sense of entitlement may be at work here. Bad decisions and failure on the pitch is part and parcel a part of football. If fans feel like protesting they can do that but United fans should thank the stars they are not Everton fans, or any other team that hasn’t had the kind of success they have. The Glazers share the blame for putting the people in place that hired the people who manage the club and recruit the players. It’s been a total organizational failure. The belief that Changing ownership will change the fortunes of the club is naive. The best fans can hope for is that the next Manager is more Sir Alex, than Ole, Ralf, Jose, Louis and David.

@randomkiliinterviews94532 жыл бұрын
I think the players and staff feel that with their club the sky is not the limit. They will never dominate Europe because as soon as something reliable is created, the Glazers will pull out again, keeping them at a Quarterfinal CL, 4th of the league level. It's this sense of hopelessness that drains the fans, the lack of real perspective

I’m a Man United fan - the fact is that the blame at this current moment is shared amongst the Club owners and the current squad as they are not performing nor showing any desire. Simon’s point usually seems to be lost as arguments are seen as binary outcomes - 0,1 (True, False), when in reality this is all made up of several, continuously moving, components. The point is that poor decision-making, paired with a squad that has become aimless and soft leads to extensive and prolonged issues. It can be a lot easier to make a mess than to clean it up, and i think that is very much the case here - it will take a couple of years of making better decisions than worse consistently, before the tanker starts moving in the correct direction. Man United is a huge club and is need of investment in quality, hunger, and talent - the club is always bigger than any owner, manager, or player.

Glazers are the owners tho so the buck ultimately begins and ends with them , nobody forces them to put players on stupid contracts . Or hire bankers to make football decisions ,or not communicate with the fans ,or run the club in debt , or take divends out , or be more interested in commercial ventures then football. Best thing for all parties is for them to sell up .

Ed Woodward ran the player recruitment with such naivety, desperation, indecision and insecurity, if United were in expert hands, people like Woodward would be nowhere near player recruitment.

Privatization means profits are the most important thing, whether is running a public service or a football club. so when something is privatized its not about running a good service or being a good club its about profits for the shareholders, they don't care about trophies or philosophies or the fans. Share holders are only involved to try and make money. PRIVATIZATION IS BAD, ITS BASICALLY MEANS PROFITS ARE NOT RE-INVESTED BUT GIVEN TO SHAREHOLDERS. PRIVATIZATION WORKS FOR THE SHARE HOLDERS AND ONLY THE SHAREHOLDERS.

The stadium is slowly falling apart and behind other grounds, our training ground has been neglected for years, our womens team is being ignored and underfunded, the management of the club at every level is a joke. There has been hardly any investment back into the community compared to what Man City has done. Recruitment is a joke, our sports science team is a joke, the dividends being taken out of the club looks horrendous on the face of it, and then there is the performance on the pitch. I think the performances have been the spark to the powder keg that is our fanbase atm. The last thing the fans could count on was the effort for the badge that these players are supposed to put in. Now that they aren't even giving that the rot has set in at every level and the fans have had enough.

Simon is correct. Point at the players. They're milking the club with Little to no care for the club or the fans.

Protests may be background noise. But what the Glazers should understand better is that fans are on the edge. If things don't improve, it's only a matter of time before fans start taking extreme measures, such as not going to games. I think the Glazers will be smart to address these issues as soon as possible.

Simon is correct. Say what we want, The Glazers did put in the funds to get players. That we've bought players on the high and not use them properly can't be on them. That players paid millions are choosing Managers isn't on the Glazers. There's a rot in Man United, and we can see that it's a gravy train for the whole lot.

United fans have been protesting the glazers even when fergie was busy winning everything. The premise of the argument is invalid. It's just worse now that united doesn't have the greatest manager of all time. Because that's what it takes to win anything under this ownership. A world class manager with a ridiculously strong personality...oh wait ..didn't we have Mourinho? LVG? Also...where's the villification of the players?? Do you live in a cave? The players are criticized nearly every day 😂😂😂😂

Is it really fair to criticise the owners for the players they bring in? Sure, they're the ones who provide and spend the money but can anyone really sit here and tell us that the likes of Paul Pogba, Maguire, Sancho, among others both now and in the past, would've totally flopped once arriving there? Those 3 named alone came on the back of incredible seasons or multiple seasons with their respective previous clubs. The only criticism I would personally throw their way is that they are responsible for the culture and philosophy of the club, which should trickle down into how they want the team to perform and the type of style they want (basically the setup Liverpool and Manchester City have). Man United have clearly lacked that philosophy and have just been bouncing between ideas from all these different managers instead of recruiting a manager and players that fit THEIR ideas. Even on the manager front, with the exception of the stupid idea to bring in Ragnick on an interim basis, I doubt the owners really expected each manager to do as badly as they did. Hindsight can paint such a negative view when things don't work out, but I believe all the failures come back to that lack of philosophy and identity to direct their recruitment.

I'm a United fan and as much as I think this will help move the Glazers out, we all know it just won't. What it hopefully will do is create an ever present visible protest so the Glazers understand their unpopularity.

Spot on from SJ , because your not going to get unmotivated players who don’t want to put a shift in to dig deep and win you crucial games because they have the attitude of I’ll be here after ralf ragnick so it doesn’t matter how I play because I’ll be here after you , ralf should shake things up and say if I think your coming off the pitch and you’ve not put in 110% I’ll swap you with someone from the u23 because your not entitled to a 1st team place you have to earn that spot like elanga has this season even if he isn’t the finished article he puts in a shift every game and so does Fred and a couple others too many entitled frauds at this club

That statement is full of fluff and PR talk. Probably prepared by the guy who came on the other day. The only mistake the Glazers did was to listen to people saying that they need to keep the United Way. Hence the team was overrun by ex players who are average as coaches. And btw - SAF is still having a word or two in their ears.
