Most of the comments here advise the United players to watch this video, and that's right, this is a very entertaining post. But I would say it's the "new" fans who really need to watch it. To get a real appreciation of what Man United is and what it stands for. United is not just about "Trophies" although, sure you play to win, it's about character and belonging. Paul and Nicky are wonderful examples. They never slag off players, particularly OUR players. They show respect and gratitude for the good fortune that lead them to Old Trafford, it's a life long sense of belonging.

I'm a Liverpool fan, 34, I got into football around the same time Owen was on the rise... I have to say these 2 are a breath of fresh air, the humility from them after everything they achieved and the era of football they were apart of deserves the upmost respect.. as a Liverpool fan it's obvious Gerrard is seen as one of the best captains. But Keane embodies what a premier league captain should be, and in contrast its exactly what United have been missing for years... having someone like Bruno as captain is a mockery of the club. The bias in me is only that I want man united to actually be challenging because beating your rivals doesn't have the same buzz when they're under performing... back when Liverpool were pushing for top 4 at best most seasons, beating Man United was enough to call that season a success. Rise and Murphy highlight reels were the highlights of my childhood 😂 nowadays there isn't that satisfying feeling, it's more of a nervous, we can't lose that'd be embarrassing... you want your rivals to be up there pushing so the win has meaning to it.. atm, beating Aston villa and Brighton is more satisfying, and that's terrible from my perspective... when you reminisce about the Henry era, and the intensity of United and Arsenal, any scraps Liverpool could get were major steps forward. Then Chelsea came with their money and the Benitez vs Mourinho era, the phantom goal in the champions league etc 😂 at the same time Liverpool took strides forwards, the Glazers seemingly set fire to the blueprints and sabotaged the entire squad. Its been gradual steps down ever since, and this is a loss for all of football, not just United... the epitome of how bad this club is now can be best reflected by the way they handled De Gea.. he was never a top tier goalkeeper, too many flaws in his overall game, but he was a good shot stopper, and much better than Onana... The way they promised Henderson starts, then shipped him off to Nottingham, the way they offered De Gea a contract extension then change their mind and cancelled his contract, as a football club, it is embarrassing, as a business, it is a shambles! And that doesn't include the 1.5 billion they've spent to make the squad worse in every single position... you needed a dm for 5 years, to help McTominay, so they sell McTominay to make room for a dm.. insanity is more subtle.. if it wasnt for Garnacho and Mainoo, United would struggle for top 10.. on such a high wage budget and transfer fee turnover, there is no excuse or justification.. unless they are simply there for laundering money, nothing positive can be said about United under the Glazers... its not just the roof that's leaking at old Trafford.. I truly hope that United become a good football club again one day, and then build towards being one of the top clubs again. At the moment,.they are about 5 years behind Brentford

Like scholesy said when you get to 28 to 30 years old even if your not the captain in the team you still get young players asking for your opinion and help . That's more of a mentoring side where your just giving them advice and giving them confidence to believe in themselves I mean if I were a young midfielder I would be in absolute awe of scholesy and keaney and would drink in everything they said to me so yeah as players get older they take on a mentoring role
@garygaz5024Ай бұрын
Think Roy said Robson said to him once you have to get more involved in the game instead of bombing forward and Keane changed and became a leader after just one little bit of advice/and i think Shearer said once when he was in the changing room for England he looked round the changing room and every player in every position was a captain and a leader in there clubs.

Imagine Roy Keane being your greatest captain (and for us also best player), just as you know, have said. Then imagine him walking away from Old Trafford during a Champion's League campaign because the training facilities etc. weren't the best. Then even worse, imagine someone doing that for (actually against) your national team, your country.
