So cool and nonchalant about his gear. "Yeah you know no big deal". Such a gentleman and a legend.

Very interesting to learn about the different bearing edges on the SC kit. I've got a kit from the same era so now I'm wondering about my bearing edges ??
@DavidOakesMusic4 жыл бұрын
I love when super geeky musicians fret about the minute details - and if you played a drum solo and every other tom had a different bearing edge - but it was all the same wood from the same kit etc - literally nobody in the audience would know. And to hear any difference - you'd probably have to have one of each bearing edge - on the same sized tom with the same skins tuned to the same note. And even then you'd probably be hard pushed to notice. It's like guitarists who insist that 1mm thicker picks will sound different after going thru an amp - being miked up and out of a deafeningly loud PA. No.

Kotow Boy well maybe some musicians hearing is more acute than others! As a "geeky musician " I'm just curious to know the shaping of my bearing edges,either way my toms some great!!!

Kotow Boy : Not necessarily. Simon has a touch and he can play for the room. I saw him with a similar kit at Blues Alley few years ago, with Hiromi, and he played the room.

@@Riddim4 I like when he says an ever so slightly smaller wood tip will be a lot quieter. Infinitesimal maybe... Maybe use blasticks or rods ?

It sound like Kaz has synesthesia. How cool would that be if you were a musician.
