What a humble guy! My first exposure to Simon's amazing drumming was on the 801 Live album. I would have loved to see him on that Genesis tour (Chester did a good job though!). Do you know which Brand X he played on? Most recently saw him in the Hiromi Trio Project. Thanks for the interview!

Seems like a somewhat tenuous connection to grab more attention. Phillips played drums on the album Touch Me There from violinist L. Shankar in 1979, which was produced by Zappa, who also co-wrote half the tracks and sang on one of them, "Dead Girls of London" (after Van Morrison's vocals were unable to be released because of legal troubles, but this version is here on KZbin).
