Another classic with the Warren! A couple of suggestions for further marginal savings. 1. Planet X brakes. You have the forged version, whereas the machined version are 20g lighter. (I have a spare pair....) 2. Saddle. I've got an Aliexpress carbon jobby that was about £20 and weighs 80g. That's another 45g saving. (and it was comfortable enough to get round the FredWhitton without any discomfort). 3. Seatpost. You could get a Hylix off Aliexpress for about £18 - they are about 120g if you cut them down to length
@100climbs7

I wanted the Planet X brakes, couldn't find any. You are right there are still plenty of savings, maybe I'll make some more effort for next season. Cheers.

@@100climbs7 As you note in the video, it's good to tinker and add (subtract) something new each season. It's all part of the fun! From your current setup, the seatpost, saddle and stem are possibly the cheapest things you could look to tweak (Aliexpress - roughly £20 for each). After that, perhaps it would be time to look at a superlight dedicated HC frameset, and / or picking up second hand 10s/11s Sram Red shifters and mech. Best of luck in the last events of the season.

I am just glad that I was never stupid enough to cut my drops off. I don't know about anyone else, but it just makes me cringe at the thought of reaching for the drops and they aren't there. I noticed that women tend to be more careful/ I have not seen any women with bars cut off.

My Caad10 w/ Campy Chorus 11, carbon itm 42cm bars and Ritchey wcs seatpost and even lower profile Easton EC 90s weighs only 6.3 kilo. That's also with big commuter lights, a regular Prologo saddle, full bartape, a Cdale alu stem, both chainrings and front derailleur, and 25mm vittoria tubs. So, I could drop an alu bike pretty close to his setup if I chop the bars, toss the bar wrap, fd, smaller diameter tubs, etc etc... imagine rolling up to a hill climb with a sub 14lb alu bike
