You're out of your mind, right? Kournikova was one of the best players on tour, who constantly appeared deep in Slams and who could win over every top 10 player in for those 5 or so years she was active. She has won multiple Slams in doubles, held Nr 1 in the WTA double ranking and her power game was diverse and nice to look at. Bouchard is not nearly Kournikova's level. And she never will be.

Your response is biased because i am sure he meant as a Single player. Kournikova one of the most popular players on tour, no doubt, but definitely not one of the best players on tour! You must be kidding! She has not won one Singles title, only one SF in a Grand Slam. That's what you call one of the best player on Tour. Bouchard has already done better with 1 Singles title, one final in Wimbledon and two SF's in the AO & french open. She ranked 5th in 2014 when Kournikova could never reach the top 5 in the WTA rankings. Kournikova is the most overrated player in the history of tennis - just because she was beautiful she made a lot of money and was very popular. She can find dozens of much less popular female players who have a better palmares than her.

Kournikova retired at 21, was injured for long periods of time during her best periods of play, and played in the strongest WTA ever. She still made three Tier I finals, Wimbledon SF, ranked 8 in the world as a teenager, wins over Hingis, Graf on grass, Sanchez-Vicario, Davenport (x3), Capriati (x3), Martinez, Clijsters, Dementieva, etc. She was far more talented than Bouchard, but had unfortunate luck with freak injuries. By comparison, Bouchard was 21 during her 2014 run and they faced the same age restrictions.

I saw Robbye, Serena's old hitting partner in Bouchard's camp. I guess he jumped shit when he thought Serena was done for. Good he's gone. He was awkward, ugly, and I hated his game. Serena won on her own merits and he wasn' really a help. He was hiding something and was always uncomfortable. I guess he wasn't comfortable b/c he was gay and didn't want people to know it.
