In this video, I am heading up the Peddars Way, a 50 mile off-road trail in Norfolk on my ebike. Fiido, who make the bike, claim a very impressive range per battery charge and I wanted to test out that range under heavy use in some challenging conditions during winter and so the idea of this trip was born.
Heading off from the Suffolk border, I begin my journey northwards, passing through forests, heathland, wetlands, wide rolling hills and along muddy paths and gravel tracks. I finally arrive at a nice spot to camp for the night, tantalisingly close to the dunes and beaches of the North Norfolk coast, with just a bar of battery remaining.
After a well deserved steak dinner, a couple of beers and an evening enjoying a nice fire, its time for bed ready for the final leg to Holme-next-the-sea, but can I make it before the battery runs out?
I hope you enjoy the video.
Thanks for watching.

Yeah I was thinking exactly the same thing. Like some of the shots where he's crossing the road or riding away, and the camera is still there filming everything as he disappears around the corner. Would be great if it was a drone and you can just call it back to your location, or have it in follow mode overhead.

@@gustonzimasheen yes the drone is good for that. Just watch out if it gets a low battery and starts to return to home - that’ll be where you started, not where you are.

This is the most realistic and grounded video of bikepacking/outdoors activity. Almost every youtuber has super sleek expensive all set perfect destination, equipment etc to showcase how easy it is but it's really not supposed to be easy it's outdoors you're alone in the wilderness and for new comers this is a reality check video.

“Obviously, I just fancied another sit down, didn’t I.” Whoa, man, I still like your electric bike. Seems to be the way of biking on trails; mud, leaves, gravel, grass and sand all conspire to make us, “sit down”, heh, heh, been there. Thanks for taking us along. Hope you and your bike escaped injury….from east Tennessee. Watching again, “What more could you ask for?” I wonder, would a good heater pack, the kind that last about 10 hours, tied to the battery, at the foot of your sleeping bag, might serve you well. It is really handy to have such a good public transport system in your country. Thanks again.

Camp steak dinner is superior to the finest steakhouse! We will be watching to see Simon work his magic when modding this E-bike to perfect it into the perfect trail machine. I would prefer a center hub design. Nevertheless, this machine should be more than enough for local running on our less-than-perfect roads and be handy in all sorts of emergencies except deep flooding during typhoon season. This was a great ride and a wonderful showcase of Fiido T1's abilities. Thank you, Simon, for the post

Great video very nice e-bike. Doing a LDP soon and this has confirmed that a tarp and bivvi rather than a tent will be my choice. Wednesday isn't Wednesday without Simon, thanks for uploading.

Very cool camera footage. Also, you make me want to camp now with my Ebikes I had that exact same bike.

What a great video! You made all those different camera angles, including some where the camera was stationary and you just wanted a nice 5 second ride-by. That, plus editing took some dedication. I wish I was along with you. You did a really good, smart job of packing things too. It was an amazing amount of stuff you took out of just a few bags. It was winter when you did this; not too cold, only -1°C. Cold enough that you didn't have to worry about bugs! In my part of the world (southeast Wisconsin, USA) there would have been raccoons, coyotes and foxes sniffing around for the food while I was sleeping. Will you do another video like this for a road ride of 100 miles? This time, you would be on back roads or at least gravel roads rather than mud, go 50 miles to a hotel, where you would recharge, then go back the next day. I'm going to look for more like this.

I've been tossing this around for a while and I have to say it. The new music is such a downer. The opening to Winter Bike-Packing with a Hot-Tent was visually very similar but the music gave it such a different feel. I watched that one several times just for the opening. It makes me wonder if you're suffering from depression or tired of making videos.

Thank you for another brilliant video, I've enjoyed the Pedders Way with you before and was very interested in the ebike journey. I hope you give us some more about the ebike when you get the off-road tires and when the temperatures are better for the battery. Keep up the great work, like so many viewers I look forward to you next adventure.
