Fun adventure! Btw, that hill you had to walk your bike up to is exactly when a mid drive comes in handy.

Can you please explain what would make a mid drive better for going up a hill? I’ve only owned hub drive e-bikes and I’m curious what the mid drive would do different?
@wandererstraining16 күн бұрын
@@scottdrew6403 Because a mid drive can use the bike's speeds, which means that it can use granny gears for mechanical advantage when going up hill.
@scottdrew640316 күн бұрын
@ but on a hub drive motor you can just twist the throttle and it will assist in the same way. Am I missing something?

Bret You did well on this video! What a cool idea! It's definitely a big challenge on going up that hill with a bike! So, what were you drinking by the stream? Was that bone broth ? Another interesting idea I might try! Thanks again for a very entertaining idea. Got me thinking of an electric bike! Rick From Virginia
@AtlasAdventures7 ай бұрын
Thanks Rick! Yes that was bone broth. I drink it a lot, it’s great for gut health and mostly just protein. I highly recommend an e-bike, they make bike riding pretty effortless!

Looked like a great time! Is there a way to carry a spare battery or some type of solar charger for the bike for longer trips?
@AtlasAdventures7 ай бұрын
Thanks as always! They do offer a mount that you can put two extra batteries in, but they would interfere with the pannier bags. You should be able to use a solar panel. I took mine on this trip but I forgot the cord…

another fun video with great drone footage. Really impressed with that fiido bike. especially the mies your getting on those dirt roads. going over to EZE Ryders in san diego to look at them. we have 2 lectric bikes now but very basic. really like how beefy fiido looks and looks like they have some sales going on right now. also miss that 70 temps vs our 110 today.

Great video. Been thinking of picking up that exact bike for exactly what you did. When the battery died the 2nd time and you had to pedal it like a normal bike, how difficult was it and how far did you have to bike to make it back?
@AtlasAdventures6 ай бұрын
Thank you! I was somewhere around 4 - 5 miles left when it died. You could definitely tell it weighed more than a normal bike but nothing too extreme except when you are going uphill, you notice the weight difference then

I think electric bikes should come with two batteries. After all that's a lot of money for a bike just to find yourself pushing it back or barely riding it back
@AtlasAdventures6 ай бұрын
I certainly wouldn’t mind if they did but I did have that thing weighed down so 50 some miles on that battery wasn’t bad at all
@tinmanxd13306 ай бұрын
@AtlasAdventures @jerrywaters4814 This bike is one of the few that you can get 3 batteries for the max range at low power is 248 mi. They even have a Lil mount for the other 2 batteries to be stored so theoretically you could hook em up to a solar batter bank or something if you wanted to add even more range. Also if you see this could you do a review of the bike with zero power assistance curious how it handles as a standard bicycle in emergencies
